How does that change the fact Canada always has by far the best team? They should still be able to win with those teams.
Canada should probably win every single year based on the players we send.
Canada has a lot of talent. It also has to deal with the structure of the team. This year they went with the best of the best available rather than having more role players like in past years.
This year Canada has some top talent that didn't make it to or go far in the playoffs this year. (Crosby, Giroux, Seguin for example). Also by having healthy players like Ebs and Hall playing as well definitely helps.
Imagine if Getzlaf and Perry, Price and Subban were playing. It would a way stronger team. Only 3 players playing for Team Canada played in the last Olympics.
Yep, luckily this is icehockey and not like for example football. In hockey everything can happen.More of a team game and momentum, not just star players.

I think this year's team should win this tournament. Really no excuse why they shouldn't.
Can't really remember 2010
I'd say that Canada's best against anyone's best is no contest.
When it's maybe half of Canada's best against anyone's best like this tournament then we're still a favourite but maybe not the far and away favourite like we were in Sochi.
Poor ekblad, he finally gets back on the ice, and get's a -1![]()
