Interesting than facing Germany.

Nah but seriously Canada hasnt faced any top teams yet, I can see them actually struggling against Czechs even though that game should be clear as water.

The worst thing of that match was that at least in three goals germans did not expect the player to shoot with such a short preparation time....Considering that most of our Ds are from euro leagues and our big defence gaps, it can be disaster tommorrow. Crowd will push us to attack, however we should play well organized defensive game in my opinion. We will see what happen....

Btw. I am going to Canada - Swiss game and I will definetely cheer for Canada. On the other hand I hope TC does not win this tourney, otherwise they will send just crap teams to all WCs for next ten years:)))

Is Crosby injured? McLellan says no, he was just trying to get other places into the game.

Crosby's ice time by period:

1 = 5:12
2 = 4:35
3 = 0:21

Do we believe McLellan and Crosby?

Why was Crosby the one player to be benched for the entire 3rd period?

Sidney Crosby played only one shift in the third period, but he's not injured. Coach Todd McLellan just wanted to get the entire roster some minutes.
"A lot of guys haven’t played in a long time," Crosby explained. "I’ve been fortunate enough to come from the playoffs. It’s been a few weeks for some guys. Just to get them in the game was good."

He stepped aside to give Couturier (13th forward) some more minutes.

A loss against the Czechs would not be a huge negative for them. It might help them get focused after two games that were over after the first period.

Segs is snake bitten.. Boys should take him out to some of Prague's better drinking establishments and get him loosened up a little.

I'm sure Seguin hasn't even considered a night out yet...

It's weird that he looks slow out there. At least the rest of the forwards look quite good.

Why would you say "*He stepped aside* to give Couturier (13th forward) some more minutes" implying that it was Crosby's decision and not the coach?

I wish he'd pick it up, but he's got a few days and games to find his groove... I'm still hoping there's a late addition on D though...

Calgary should be bounced rather quickly... love to get Brodie over there.

hhaha ... much better than our guys trying to ... dunno ... like explain ... or rather make excuses ... whatever they are doing, they should open up a beer. :laugh:

Thing is, this was kind of expected why were they trying to make excuses. Plain and simple Canada is just better, this isn't anything new to hockey fans especially German ones, so why even bother going in circles getting all pissy and trying to explain why the game is going the way it is. Somebody should just tell them to look at the rosters and that should basically explain everything.

I haven't seen such a dominance in a while if ever from Team Canada at the WHC. This team has an enormous potential. The score in the first 40 minutes of each games together is 14-0.

We've played Latvia and Germany...we do this every year. Let's wait until the medal round before we talk about dominance. Quite frankly these types of games bore me and over the past 5 years we seem to walk our way through the preliminary round only to get bounced in the QF. We haven't accomplished anything yet. And although the first two games and the score tells us we dominated, let's see how we do against Czech Republic and Sweden.

Haven't watched much of the TC games, but from what I've heard the line combos are:

MacKinnon-Crosby-Spezza
Ennis-Giroux-Seguin
Hall-Duchene-Eberle

The question is...why has Seguin seemed to struggle so far compared to all the other forwards?

Also what has been everyone's opinion on the first two lines as well?

He's still only like 75% after his knee injury. I'm guessing that's a pretty big factor. He was still wearing a knee brace at the end of the regular season. Benn was beasting so he compensated for Seguin but you could tell he wasn't 100% and it hasn't been long enough since the season ended for him to be completely recovered. He probably should be resting at home instead of playing tbh

Still feel that way? :laugh:

I was emphasizing what Oilers fans have said about Duchene in the past. In all seriousness, though, a number of them were concerned that Hall and Duchene don't play well together. I'm glad those guys have found the ability to score using each other. I love Duchene. He definitely gave Hall enough room and passes to score the hat trick.

I agree with you. I think playing Sweden and the Czech republic will tell a lot.

Seguin has been fine, his skating is great, he just needs to get that one first goal and it will be alright. Maybe he's resting for the more important games ;)

Oh boy, I love those lines. Especially MacKinnon-Crosby-Spezza is something to watch. We will see against the tougher opponents like the Czechs or Sweden, but I really like all the lines. The great thing is that it seems Crosby has already some chemistry with MacKinnon (not that surprising since they train together) and Spezza. Ennis is playing really well too.

Germany is an embarrassment.

They were really lucky against france too, france was much better.
Hopefully they go down to div1 where they obviously belong.
