since canada is out of the tournament i find myself rooting for russia. there are just too many players on the russian team that i genuinely like.

the result could go either way. finland has a good goaltender and a strong recent record against russia but russia has the better roster. i can see luck playing a huge role in the results.
 
The IIHF will announce their decision after russia's practising



i think it will happen in the next 15-30 min.

apparently they just did. both coaches receive suspension.

and it's the right decision...The IIHF doesn't normally make the correct decision, but here they did.

Even if Znarok wouldnt be banned, he probably wouldnt be in game because he should be on medical leave because his throat is so sick.
 
Colour me surprised. Didn't think they'd have the cojones to ban Russia's coach from a gold medal game, no matter how suspension worthy that gesture was.

The suspension is without a doubt good news for Finland. Znaroks has done a really good job with molding a team out of these, usually selfiss individuals. Russia will miss they head coach, but we'll see if they can still steamroll the Finnish with their superior talent level.

It was right decision. Znarok was behaving like a classless barbaric child. We dont need that kind of behaviour. Also Swedish coach got ban.
 
For Russian fans: If Russia wins, how good consolation it is for letdown in Sochi?
