He has lost his mind, worst game by the Lions for a long time. Nothing positive to say about that effort.I do not understand why some many of you are down on Westerlund. I think he is great, he makes Finland play a way which suits their style, he has a good track record (especially in Olympics) and I think he is doing the best he can with the players he got.
The problem with this years team Finland is the lack of finishing skill, no pun intended. It's like their shots do not have a purpose or thought behind them.

I can understand people like to bash players alot, ok Lehterä missed a couple empty netters but Finland had a lot of bad luck too.
Seemed like Finland never got into the game for some reason even if Usa played good defensively.
You need to remember Erkka put this team together and he obviously made some bad decisions which are all on him, Lehterä should be 2line center and OJ on the 3 or something.
Erkka is a great coach when he has a great roster which he doesn't this time.

Holy cow what a bad team we have. There is a reason why 15 of these guys never have been in a WC before. They dont skate like crazy and finnishing the checks like we are used to see from our national players !!.. I feel bad for Haula he plays very good, bt the rest suck. Lehterä had 2 or 3 open net and he miss all times, go home ....#selanne help
You do understand that Erkka picked grinders and wooden hand d-man over skill players himself, so the lack of skill players and goal scorers is totally his fault.
There's no point in blaming the players, they didn't pick themselves into the team. Sadly I am not so sure if all of them even know why they were chosen in the first place... Erkka deserves the blame because he had a choice to pick more talented players and he chose not to because he didn't trust them.

Sure about that? I thought either Latvia can't get any or Belarus can't get more than one. They're both a point ahead of us with a game in hand, right?

I'm not completely hopeless yet. I see both Latvia and Russia as favourites against Belarus. Also, in 2011 we started like **** as well and we all know how that ended.

So, Finland will get to 11 with win over Borat's.
One of Belarus/Latvia will have 12/11 points after tonight, other one with 9/10.
Even if Belarus got 2 points we would still be ahead of them, Latvia can only get 1 point max.
That team played very well had good chemistry, they had everything this team does not have. (Koivu, Granlund,Ruutu,Pihlström,Aaltonen) Dont even compare the -14 team with the gold team.
