they won't. zero chemistry. Kuznetsov needs a guy like Loktionov(Malkin???). Burmistrov has become a pure NA player. their line on AkBars is playing the ttypical Na hockey.

Alot of attributes on the rink overlap, but yeah- what i meant was that he has that mental attitude of wanting to win whatever the cost. Those kind of players want to improve themselves no matter what kind of beating they take. But otherwise, i agree - it's a hit or miss with him right now. If he starts the game well, he can put up a Mvp performance and if not, then.. well, you see.
 
So, this game is done now. Our guys seemed that they don't care anymore. Maybe thats good.

Stupid move by Girgs. Now lets hope he will miss only one game.
 
Girgs will most likely get 2-3 games. Gotta keep emotions in check. Can't let anyone under your skin than easily! Oh, well! Next few games are gonna be tough ones...

And explain, why don't we? :) We have nothing to prove to them, just like to other national teams. We need to focus on winning them, not fear that they'll destroy us by a big score.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves. Yes, we did well in the previous games, but Russia clearly got the better team in this one AND it shows.

It will be tough -but we could get a win vs Belarus w/o Girgs. However for the quarterfinals it is essential that we have Girgs. No way we can dream of advancing without him. So we've have to hope he gets only 2 games.

Theres really noone in this team that can be comapred to Girgs,really. His amazing boardplay,physicality and poise with the puck are the that things that wins games,loosing him is terrible for us and diminishes our chances greatly.

I don't think Latvian hockey players have some kind of inferiority complex. The reason they are loosing is that this Russian team is actually playing like a team. When Russian are playing like that they can only be stopped by other top-5 nations (Sweden, USA, Canada, Chech Republic).

Well, we've been pretty lucky with winning teams like Finland or USA, because they didn't have their best rosters. However, not all the players have the ''winner mentality''. I hope this game doesn't drag our players down and make them not believe in themselves. I the next few years we will need more players like Girgensons, even if it sounds ironic, because he's a Sabres player.
