I wonder about that rule though, I'm sure I've seen such really slight crease violations been passed by even in this tournament. Can't even be totally sure if it was a crease violation - and shouldn't there be some actual hindrance to the goalie which in this case there surely wasn't. Weird.

The NHL switched to punishing goaltender interference a bit more strongly.

Finally a team with some real influence gets shafted by this nonsense of a call, maybe eventually we will see this rule corrected.

This is why people shouldn't complain when the Olympic refs are Canadians and Americans from the NHL. Hockey isn't like soccer, there just aren't that many great refs out there in this sport, most are in the NHL. The international rules aren't great, but with good enough refs you can have a still have a good tournament (like in 2014 OG).

LMFAO at the people complaining...this rule has been a part of IIHF for years and years, it's been called multiple times in this tournament. The rule sucks but a rule is a rule...don't be angry and say the refs are against Cze or are for Canada..again...the rules are the rules the refs just followed procedure. If you have an issue bring it up in a complaint to the IIHF if your feelings are hurt that bad..

Skate on the blue paint, no goal. Goes by the rules. Stupid rule, but by the rules a clear disallowing.

Nope, not even by the rules. The rule isn't that simple, mate. If anything, it refers to establishing a position within the crease, not just skates.

Spezza is flying out there. Guess this is redemption for all the years he was left off the national team

I know this is a bait post, and a cheap attempt to troll...

but at least have some respect for the country you are trying to ridicule..spell Canada with a capital C.

I don't think it is disrespect. I am on a phone and I don't try to capitalize stuff. Shift key is so small.
