Really good and entertaining game... Too bad that the refs were bunch of assclowns like always on IIHF games.

I hope they sometimes start hiring actual professional refs someday... Not just picking up the first drunk that just happens to walk by, like they seem to. Again.

Ristolainen and Lindbohm would've been available now but no they have to pick Jaakola/Ohtamaa just for Jagr to make fun of..
Before it all began though, those two were among the consensus picks. All the fumes were directed at Mäntylä, who wasn't an issue at all in the end.

Now it's safe to say that maybe RR should have made it instead of #55 or #63, but that's now, not then. Hindsight is a wonderful thing.

It's a well deserved win for the Czechs. The Finns almost managed to challenge b burying their chances.

IIHF really needs to sort the refereeing though. It was atrocious and blatantly favoring the Czechs and once more just brutal. However that doesn't change the fact that the right team won nor is it in any way the fault of the Czechs.

Jagr was a real force. A slow paced IIHF games erases his age and he is just an incredible individual. What a pleasure it is to watch him play the game.

One of the reasons I stopped caring is the fact we have bums in the line-up CONSISTENTLY instead of younger guys who will be the future. It's a crying shame, but this is an old-boys club.

Mäntylä didn't even play after the 2nd period so kinda hard to blame him

I fully agree. Is it impossible to get better refs to IIHF?

I'm peeved about Finland losing but starting tomorrow I will be cheering for you guys to win this thing.

Can't be anything but happy for Jagr considering it's home tournament and he doesn't have many tournaments left (he's going to retire eventually, even Selanne and Chelios had to retire). Makes it even easier seeing how he stepped up when it was needed, great game. On that note, playing another season with him can only be good for Barkov.

I really can't see anyone stopping Canada but out of the teams remaining, I'm rooting for the home team.

Congratulations to Czech and good luck against Canada, will be a tough game but with Jagr and that amazing crowd behind the team they can do it.

Too bad the game winner was such a softie by Rinne. I don't blame Pesonen for the giveaway, just went to the wrong guy.

If only Rinne had played like he did against Russia, two soft ones today imo.

Also tough to swallow one of the Czech powerplay goals that was scored after a dive right infront of the ref. Also very iffy call on Kontiola when Finland scored. Those two situations really stung, they really changed the momentum.

Czech's still deserved to win.

I hope Canada steamrolls the Czech in the semis. I don't like the Czech's one bit. Except maybe old man Jagr, it's hard to hate on him, he's still going strong.

On a positive note, at least now we no longer have to hear about how T.Ruutu always gets a medal when playing for Finland.

Great fans there. But yeah, if CAN or USA doesn't take it, CZE would do. Jagr is quite a machine still after all years. Rinne let some easies in. Quite letdown from Finnish team, against Russia they were much better.

The refs were alright, not sure why certain people are complaining.
:sarcasm:

Congrats to Czechs. Refs can go to hell. Congrats to Canada for the gold. Good night. Viimeinen sammuttaa valot.

The Olympics incorporates NHL refs, but then Canada (and USA to a lesser degree) get labeled as cheaters. Either way somebody will always complain.
Huh? Olympics have better refs than IIHF.

I mean low quality reffing is constant problem in IIHF.
