More sad is that Kemppainen's stick got slashed in the air on Czech pp, and 10seconds they score. How on earth wasnt that a penalty?

Did I miss something, that penalty before the second czech goal was pretty obvious tripping, Finnish defender has put stick betwen Kovar's legs. Of course, need to be said, that there was very clear slashing during the PP but the Czech player was very sneaky. And Kontiola was without puck and almost checked Czech defenseman into his neck. I don't really see anything wrong about these calls. And please, don't bring nationality into this discussion, Czechs and Russians have very thorny relationship to say the least

Kontiola almost touched the Czech defender in the neck while fighting for the puck. Puck was contested in front of the net. Rules say that leeway should be given in these situation unless there's a blatant and violent infraction. This is the one call I don't feel was justified, the other ones I'm fine with. And the obvious slash on the powerplay of course.

Not suggesting any conspiracy, just terrible referees as usual. Really close to giving up on this event if they don't get their act together.

He fell because he's too weak on his skates. As said before, in NHL or any league that allow physical play that's not a penalty.

You are going to get screwed by poor reffing now and then but Finland has really had a few too many of those lately. Hard game for the refs though with 17k czech's screaming.

The Kontiola situation could have gone either way (usually they call off the goal with no penalties) but I really hate the fact that the second goal was a direct result of Erat slashing Kemppainen's stick out of his hands when the puck wasn't anywhere near them. That should have been an easy call to make but instead it was an easy goal.

Finland isn't going to win today but it's not just the referees, Czechs have been the better team.

Yeah what ever you want to imagine in your mind. Finland should be leading the game 3-2 but you still can't even see how weak calls the russian referees made? Are you saying that the refs made good calls? Let me answer you, those were some really bad calls and that has paid Finland the lead. But what is true on the other hand is that Czechs have played very good power play. Still doesnt make this situation fair. But who gives a damn, this is just a joke of a tournament.

Yeah, the tripping was a dive, not even an embellishment and apparently there was an uncalled slash leading to the goal in the powerplay. Very unfortunate. But the Kontiola thing was borderline in an IIHF tournament, both calls can be justified, and Czechs could legimitely complain if the goal was allowed. Don't like these referees much but I have seen much worse, hopefully the team will focus on the match and not the referereeing, only trailing by one with 20 mins to go.
