Should be a good game. Hoping we put out a better effort than we did vs. the French. 5 to 2 Canada is my prediction.

after last night--I hope the swiss are beaten up--Swedes played them very physical

Swiss played well at times, depending on lines and pairings, had sense to fall back and defend when weaker players on ice. There will probably not be an upset with a Swiss win, but they got potential.

This game will go to overtime or be decided only in the third period. I'd prefer an OT point, but if the Czechs do their job, who cares.

Fun fact - the last time Canada beat Switzerland with a high score in group stage was in 2001 world championships (6:2). Then there was a quarter-final 5:1 win in 2007. Every and each of other games (at WHC and olympics) ended something like 3-2, 2-0, 3-1, 2-3, etc.

But I think today we're gonna break this low scoring series ;)

Canada should just put a shooter tutor in net. It would likely stop more pucks than Smith.

With the German loss the Swiss are in the quarters. And yeah, they try to win every game 1-0. I hope Canada played their hangover game against France yesterday and that Maclellan has them playing balls to the wall today.

I'm the opposite. Jones was terrible last - Smith is at least a good puck handler back there.

Looking past his puck handling back there, I look at him and see a big mediocre question mark. The guy has been a gong show for Arizona over the years and let's just say every time he's been in this tournament he hasn't shown any signs of being a goaltender you can trust in a big game. He lets in at least 1 questionable goal a game

Pumped. Let's get out of these quarter finals for once!

Go Canada Go!!!

Oops. I guess it is still in the qualifying round. My bad.

To counter that - neither has Jones. Short of someone new being dropped in - they are all we've got. Based on last game alone, Jones is no better - maybe worse.
