Yes, I have a problem because I don't want to physically assault a complete stranger for yelling in my face.

That makes a ton of sense. Your avatar has a faux-tough guy so it makes sense you're playing the role too. Just a piece of advice, if you want to pretend you're a big tough guy on the internet, you might want to avoid talking about your Cockapoo and Aussiedoodle.

You've never heard of Killer Cockapoo's?

I remember him and that avatar.

Classic.
He was hilarious. One of the funniest people I've ever interacted with online, and he knew a lot more about hockey than I ever have.

It was a simpler time back then. I barely recognize this forum anymore sometimes.

TBH if some rando did that to me in a bank I would honestly think the dude was on drugs or has mental health issues and not engage the guy. A guy does that to me in a bar, I'd probably lay him out.
Honestly curious as to why the perception changes if you're in a bar as opposed to a bank?

Nothing signals a good argument like resorting to ad hominins.

You would get into a physical altercation with a total stranger inside a bank if they cheered in your face?

Are you insane?

To be fair, the Maple Leafs didn't fire the GM.

In real life, what would your plan be, good Sire? Just stand there, waiting ... to be stabbed?

Seriously, if you see someone coming at you with this expression in real life, run. :D At the very least be prepared for conversation.

I can ignore someone yelling at me from 10 feet away but from two feet away? That's dicey without refs and cameras!

There's a world of difference between attacking this person, as the tough guy I responded to suggested and ignoring them.

I'm not sure why you think not wanting to fight a stranger in a bank therefore means passively ignoring them (and apparently getting stabbed.)

I am not going to respond to him directly but...

"In criminal law, the term “ assault ” refers to intentionally placing someone in fear that they will be physically harmed or experience offensive contact."

Yelling directly in someones face in a threatening manner, under a foot away, with spit no doubt spraying his face is absolutely a form of assault. If Woll did use physical means to stop the attack it would be fine. On the ice is different, he may get a penalty but could also argue unsportsmanlike conduct.

You don't appear to know what an "ad hominem" is.

An "Ad Hominem" is when you attack the person and not their argument.

Your argument was that if anyone did to you what Radko Gudas did it would be "conversation time." I then asked if you if you were serious that you would get into a physical altercation with a person yelling at you in a bank and you said "you're goddamn right."

So "attacking" your internet tough guy persona is directly attacking your argument so this isn't "resorting to ad hominins (sic)"

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I used the term right.

Ok so lets put it this way since you are downplaying what he did. It was obviously unsportsmanlike. If he or anyone did that to me the moment he was leaning in and starting to yell I would have chopped him down in self defense. Do you think I would be waiting to find out what that maniacs next move was going to be or want my eardrums or his spit in my face? Hextall would have wrecked him, I am surprised Woll didn't do anything but I am guessing because he is a rookie.

My example that you got a chuckle over was simply meant to demonstrate that if someone came up to me like that he would either be kneed, tripped, punched or whatever and I wouldn't even think about it. It's a threatening action and I have no idea what he is going to do next.

If the bank is in Toronto there is a 50% chance you will get stabbed. Lol

It's disgusting.

It wasn't funny at all. I'm not even talking about the actual screaming in Woll's face. But the Leafs cowardly lack of response.

That's what's disgusting.

The fans need to become more vocal in their dissent. Let the team know such cowardice from their heroes will no longer be tolerated. I know I get a little taste of vomit in my mouth every time I see that picture.

That type of yellow bellied behaviour in a hockey player is disgusting.

Imagine shelling out thousands of dollars to attend a playoffs game. Only to witness your hometown team lose in such humiliating fashion. The fans take it up the dookie chute while everyone at ML$E earns millions icing a team of loser wimps.

Now THAT'S disgusting.

The non-holding the stick-call on Gudas is the embarrassment here. The rulebook does change for the playoffs, particularly in overtime, but one constant are penalties that results in a scoring chance for or against.

Gudas' celebration was classless but not the worst thing we've seen.

And the fact that Leafs upper management didn't have the stones to publicly attack the league's reffing after that is awful.

The fact it literally wasn't even remotely debatable made it so much worse.

Tre doesn't strike me as someone who wants to rock the boat. But I'd really like it if they did on this crap. Either change the rules for the playoffs or make the obvious calls

In hindsight, the yell is actually kind of amusing.

What wasn't funny as a Leafs fan was the total lack of reaction from the team. Like, what team in the playoffs doesn't pounce Gudas for that? Not even so much as a face wash.

I mean I know he's scary but come on.

Fighting discussions aside, it shows a complete lack of passion in that moment and no sense of team whatsoever. It's so....unlike a hockey team....I don't know how to describe it.

....it's hard to watch this team when they act passively like that.....
