He still isn't 100% and I'm maintaining that this is a back issue until the Leafs tell me otherwise.

This is where the secrecy hurts him. If he took weeks and weeks off for a day to day injury we’d have to assume he took the extra precaution to get to 100%. Now he’s not at 100%, so why is he back? Maybe it’s conditioning level. Because he looks so sluggish out there.

Why would you assume the extra time was to get to 100% and not rehab while evaluating options?

The point I’m making is we have no idea what’s going on with him. So there’s a fundamental lack of trust because of the secrecy involved especially when you see massive swings in quality of play and engagement. He could still be hurt or completely healthy and just not into it.
