With the advent of sports gambling isn't it obligatory to infor the gambler that certain players will not be participating in a game. How can you place a bet without full disclosure. Withholding injury information is effecting fair betting practices

On one side.. we have the best goal scorer in the league back in the line up..

on the other hand... this kills the LTIR cap loophole possibility ala Vegas/Tampa

I don’t know about Canada, but in the US we have HIPAA which basically means only covered entities ( providers, insurance, etc ) cannot disclose PHI without consent. The media are not covered so they could disclose PHI depending on how they obtained the information. Typically they don’t report it because they don’t want to strain relationships.

We have PIPEDA in Canada which applies to all corporations. It is a very broad legislation covering collection, disclosure and consent at it relates private and personal information.

They haven't withheld game status. They've only withheld specific details of the injury.

I’m not a gambler but I would think if nobody was aware of the particulars all is fair. Sure the team may know but I’d think the league has that situation covered

On Leafs talk after the game they were saying how his shot doesn't look the same and his shot doesn't look the same and he still doesn't look quite right.

I disagree he's got 3 points in his 2 games back, that shot on the goal he scored last night looked pretty good to me.
I'm sure there is still a little bit of rust but I thought he looked better last night then he did against Tampa

If was still hurting he wouldn’t be playing. Some is rust but mostly it’s just who he is, a little selfish, lower hockey IQ player that played showcase hockey his entire life.

He still isn't 100% and I'm maintaining that this is a back issue until the Leafs tell me otherwise.
He wouldn't be playing

It's quite possible that it's something that won't get better or worse without surgery. They've tried rest and they've tried German injections. Surgery might be a last resort after the season.
Then he should pull himself from the 4 nations and rest. If he wont the Leafs should.

I think he’s fine, physically.
