I'm mostly worried we've seen the last of his laser beam wrist shot (just from an entertainment POV). Fortunately he can score a dozen other ways but I miss a few years ago when I couldn't even follow the puck on a slow motion replay.

I am just confused if it's wrist, back or hip right now or maybe even two of the above. Stem cell treatments can apply to all if not mistaken.

Just because they have found a way to win some doesn't mean they aren't hurting without him.

All you need to do is watch the games to see that that's true.

the offense isn't the same without a healthy Matthews

I don’t disagree but my point was don’t rush it if we’re able to win without him.

What is the timeline for the 3 LTIR amigos.

Jarnkrok is month to month, but i have not heard anything about Patches and Kampf.

Once one of these come back, the waiver sweepstakes begins since not all the players that are up are waiver exempt.

Just keep him out until he's 100% healed unless the team starts to struggle. Seems like common sense to me because this is obviously not some minor issue.
Maybe he went to Germany for a tuneup.
  1. Recovery time: Stem cell injections for back pain typically require minimal downtime, with patients able to return to their daily activities within a few days to a week.
  2. Procedure duration: The actual procedure of harvesting and injecting stem cells usually takes around 30-60 minutes.
  3. Results: Patients may start experiencing pain relief and improvement in mobility within 4-6 weeks after treatment. However, full recovery and optimal results may take several months (6-12 months) or even up to 2 years.
  4. Multiple treatments: Some studies suggest that multiple treatments may be necessary to achieve optimal results, with a 40.7% success rate reported after 6 months and 30% of participants experiencing functional improvement.

Treatment Duration: Stem cell treatment for the wrist can be completed in a relatively short period of time.

  • The treatment typically takes around 4 hours and is nearly pain-free, with only local anesthesia required.
  • Some treatments, such as AMPP injections, can be completed in about an hour

Pain relief: Stem cell treatment for hips can provide pain relief and tissue regeneration, allowing patients to return to their daily lives without pain. (Source: “Stem Cell Treatment for Hips”)

Healing acceleration: Autologous stem cells can accelerate healing after a hip injury without surgery. (Source: “Stem Cell Treatment for Hips”)

Minimally invasive: Stem cell injections are minimally invasive and can be performed as an outpatient procedure, with a recovery time of about an hour. (Source: “Hip - UK Stem Cell & PRP Treatment - Jorja Healthcare Regenerative Treatments”)

Quick symptom relief: Patients may experience significant relief from symptoms, such as pain and inflammation, shortly after treatment. (Source: “Stem Cell Therapy Reduces Need for Nearly 10% of Hip Replacements”)

Regenerative potential: Stem cells can regenerate damaged tissue and bone, potentially reducing the need for hip replacement surgery. (Source: “Stem Cell Therapy Reduces Need for Nearly 10% of Hip Replacements”)

I had it done in Dallas and it does work...especially if your back is inflammed and seizing up. It takes the inflammation away pretty quickly but doesn't "Fix" the underlying issue for a long time. It should be healed completely by April...hope he has no setbacks in between now and April.

Leave him on LTIR until the playoffs…….worked for Vegas

No need.

This "issue" will never go away, just be under control temporarily.

Therefore, ideally, it resurfaces (wink wink) near the end of February.

Wonder if he's already booked his flight?

Then Leafs have $12mm in capspace for 6 weeks as this no big deal "issue" is taken care of.

Who they trade for depends on which teams stumble their way out of the playoffs before March.

Unless they're lying about it being upper body, I think it has to be his back. Anything else upper body related wouldn't prevent him from at least skating for conditioning.
Maybe.

I broke my wrist, skating…. Anyway, I’m not skating until the cast comes off and that’s at the earliest

That's what they've been doing. If he's back Wednesday it's because he is fully healed, in his interview today he even said he's changed his approach on when to come back, this time he's waiting to be 100 percent.

I wonder if the 13.4 million they are paying him makes it slightly different then you not skating until your cast comes off. Unless maybe you’re making 12 million. Lol

Well if I hit a rut and slide into the boards, it won’t affect my future earnings although it could be devastating to the wrist. I’d be at least as careful if I was making 13 for the next 10 years
after all he can get cardio on Terra firma he wouldn’t be out there just cruising if he wanted to keep cardio up by skating, he’d be moving.
