Did you even look at the stats the poster was referring to?
I look at the stat that he has one goal this year, and two goals since November 6 2023, that is the stat that works for me, oh and my eyes.

I think he creates a lot of good looks. He is a playmaker.

I like this kid but he should be shooting 400 pucks per day all summer.Definitely needs to work on his shot.Players are not stupid they know he wants to pass it first.

I'm the first one to gaze at analytics with a jaundiced eye, but shot differential and scoring chances aren't exactly deep down the analytics rabbit hole.

But you do you. Neither one of us is making any personnel decisions for the Boston Bruins (Thank God).

Just the last couple of games his play has improved.
He appears to be getting more comfortable (in a good way) and playing with more confidence.
It's a progression in a positive trend.
Give him time.

Poitras' analytics indicate that the Bruins dominate the play when he's on the ice, and struggle when he's off the ice. For all the perceived issues he has, he's been a huge net positive play driver at 5 on 5.
Great ! lets show this to all the GMs in the league and see what we can get for him.

Same poster that thinks Coyle is not a problem, I guess his eyes see a diffence between 3 and 2 points.

Poitras at 20 yo is to skilled for this organization

Yes, he is, 9 assists, in the same period of time.
For now he seems like the ideal 3rd line player. Still too young. But too good to send down. He makes the bruins better. He has a sneaky good shot. But seems this year he hasn’t been using it. I bet he spent the summer trying to be stronger. Next year he probably works on his shot.

I keep expecting more from him based on what looks like a ton of talent. I have to admit I’m very disappointed in his total lack of production. We’re getting next to nothing from him.

It's not him though, it's the team. The problem imo is he plays with pace and speed but he's a playmaker not a sniper and while he controls the puck in the offensive zone he often has nobody and nowhere to go with it. He's also small, so the thinking is a size player to play with him, but the size players are slow and can't sync with him either.

The problem to me is Lysell (or a Lysell equivalent). A fast young guy for Poitras to give the puck to and create high danger chances, but unfortunately, Lysell's game isn't where it needs to be for it to be him but that's the hole on the roster.

Teams know his famous move. The curl thing along the boards. You can actually see teams not falling for it. Good player just needs to improve strength and skating. I see savardish moments.

At this time he isn't helping the team and needs to get stronger. He's always very slow to get up after being hit. It's concerning. Send him to Providence to get stronger and bring up another kid to spark the team. In 14 games Poitras has just 4 points, 1 goal, and a -4.

As each game goes by, the B word starts to loom. At some point you have to produce. I’m not seeing any reasons for keeping him in the lineup.

His physicality isn´t ready for the NHL and he seems to afraid to make a mistake. Unfortunately with the state this team is like right now he seems to be an easy scapegoat for Monty. The best would be to send him down to the AHL and let him develop his game. He has tons of potential but I think managment has the wrong delevopment plan for him right now.

Last few games, he seems to be lost when he's not in possession of the puck. Especially in the D zone. I think some time in Prov would help his overall game. Try another young gun like Mark and see what they can bring.

I thought this might already be posted here, but don’t see it. Probably the best decision for him and the team:

Last year KJ got sent down bc management thought he wasn't ready either. He basically made them look stupid and scored 15 points in 10 AHL games. They were forced to call him back up.

Let's hope for the same this year.
