Rempe is effective, but he's useless when he suspended, he has to figure it out before his career is over
Come on - this is just bias talking. Rempe is crossing the line. I like him and he's effective, but he's crossing the line. And if it was our players on the other side you would have a totally different opinion of his play.I have seen a heck of a lot worse. Tom Wilson. Sam Bennet. These guys get away with way worse often. I'm okay with some sort of penalty but it should not be cr4azy because he is tall or a Ranger imo.
He didn’t SAY Rempe didn’t cross a line. He said Bennet and Wilson have done way worse with more frequency and less penalty. And he is correct.Come on - this is just bias talking. Yes I have some bias but not 8 games worth of bias. Do you know of other similar hits that brought 8 games?
Yet weren't you just recently one of the ones that came on and questioned my information after months of sharing things before they were public? And if it's friendly advice and not public shaming you'd pm instead of posting.Just friendly advice that this behavior is off-putting. There's no need to go back and quote yourself to tell everyone you're right about something (especially things that are pretty predictable).
People who are right about things don't have to prove to others their intelligence or accuracy. Their reputation through their actions will be enough to build that respect.
Did that factor into the suspension? If not, it feels like you're really focusing in on an arbitrary non-factor. Why would he stop doing his ear gesture? He knows he's the villain.Rempe will think twice about mocking the crowd after getting ejected.
Probably not, but nobody is feeling sorry for Matt Rempe. Nobody is going into these meetings with a mind set that he made a mistake when he acts like an idiot right after.Did that factor into the suspension? Granted that Wilson served 14 games for a hit to the head prior to this. However, unlike Rempe, Wilson's punishable infractions are months / years apart.
Rempe elbowed a dude from behind as a repeat offender. That's what they are looking at. It's silly to imply that that behavior could influence the hearing. For that to be true, you'd have to believe that good sportsmanlike behavior would have gotten Rempe fewer games. E.g. hold his helmet "oh nos" in remorse. kneels on ground over Miro in concern, waves at bench to bring the other teams' trainer over. Maybe fans could respect him more but the suspension is gonna hit just as hard.Probably not, but nobody is feeling sorry for Matt Rempe. I think if Rempe had a couple hundred NHL games under his belt this would go a little differently. But instead, he has a few headline-making incidents in 22 games. Fair or not I think they're sending a message to him that he can't just jump into the league playing out of control. If he could make it even half a season without being at the center of controversy he'd buy himself some slack.I have seen a heck of a lot worse. Tom Wilson. Sam Bennet. I agree with you but in my opinion that doesn't make 8 games fair. 2-5 I could grudgingly understand but 8? Thanks. I feel I have seen even worse than that. Ive seen guys crosschecked to the face only get 5-15 games. I would appeal but no sense getting too upset with it. Trouba got away with some as well.
I think every player should try to appeal. I saw some numbers that said Rempe's losing around 80K. Wilson could've literally killed a guy with his hit to the head and got 20 games. He appealed down to 14, which is still a kick in the nuts.
No one ever accused this man of being a genius. You would think losing the 80 grand would smarten him up, but lets see.

It was only going up from 4 games, since he had a very recent elbowing suspension for 4. Personally I thought it would be 6, but they're definitely looking to send a message to him.I agree with you but in my opinion that doesn't make 8 games fair. 2-5 I could grudgingly understand but 8?
