Lol at Brendan Smith at the end there.

He won’t normally shy away from getting involved but he wanted none of that smoke.
Nice little side spear from Siegenthaler there. Good for Rempe mainting his calm and not pummelling him on the ice after that.

The way he grabs him and centers him for a beating is hilarious. Siegenthaler has been around a while too.

Lmao Brendan Smith. I'm so happy this is the first year no one is clamoring for that twa*.

I don't know with Brendan Smith. A main reason why I've said he has some crazy in him is a clip I've seen of him when he was with the Red Wings challenging Chara and a menacing Zdeno is giving him a big ass staredown and Brendan who's already dropped his gloves is yelling at Chara to drop them and several times before the linesman decides to intervene and Brendan going off with a 'You had your chance. You had your chance'. A bit of hubris on his part but even so. Why that didn't turn into a fight you could ask Zdeno.

I won’t be surprised if Brendan Smith becomes a sacrificial lamb next time these teams meet. I think Smith will challenge him and then hold on for dear life.
unless the Devils have someone in the minors, they want to call up.

People will fall out of love with this guy real quick if we lose a game because of a dirty hit.

Could've been a much different game if the Devils capitalized on that 5 min PP.

Hopefully he learned something yesterday

Lol have you seen this place and the fanbase?

Hes already a mainstay in the eyes of some because of a fight and a hit despite the fact that he has more PIMs than actual TOI.

I think I speak for most of us when I say that we’re rooting for him. If he’s even competent at the most basic of basics he’s an asset. I’d like him to get a chance to show that he can do those things and sitting in the box/getting tossed going to accomplish that.

Bahl should be the one. He's their biggest and it's not close. He only occasionally gets into scraps though and doesn't have the fire but he would stand the best chance of surviving I would think.

All I'm saying is if the Rangers make a move for a forward it could push Rempe out at least temporarily. IMO from what we've seen of Rempe so far I wouldn't hesitate to use him in a playoff setting where play tends to get more physical and intense. I don't know what the Rangers will do at the deadline though and that leaves things kind of up in the air for now.
Don't disagree with you on this. When playoffs come around you won't see rempe and edstrom both on the 4th line, the team just won't do that if they can avoid 2 rookies on the 4th line for a playoff run. That being said the kid looks like he's going to play a role in this league, a role that teams keep looking for but are struggling to find anymore.

He would be a prototypical black ace.

As a 4th liner you can't take penalties. We all know that, the coaches know that and players like Edstrom and Rempe know that. That's what makes it hard to be successful long term in that role but at least both of them have the speed to keep up the play and avoid the holding, hooking and interference calls that comes from lack of speed.

You're looking at him through a very narrow lens. He has played 96 games in the AHL, hit a lot of people, and done so cleanly. He's got another 111 games in the WHL against a lot of players much smaller than himself. A guy doesn't get to be that size and play with that type of aggression, and make it to the NHL, without having some measure of restraint.

Take it for what it is. A young guy just trying to impact the game.

I have an AHLTV sub and watch pack games when the rangers arent on. People acting like rempe is just some talentless goon are just so far off.

For his size hes an elite skater, as an overall skater hes average but keeps improving. He gets in on the forecheck and its hilarious watching dmen on dump in’s seeing rempe as F1 barreling down towards them, it causes so many turnovers just his mere presence. When we get possession in the o-zone he might as well set up a tent in front of the net thats how much time he spends there, the goalie cannot see a damn thing. His hands are actually pretty soft around the net too. He cleans up his fair share of goals in the dirty areas. He plays nothing but 5v5 hockey but had 8 goals in about 40 games with the pack. Hes the low cost guy who I can see becoming a valuable 4th line center

Not sure why we can't be happy with and have both Edstrom and Rempe long term.

They give us a considerable advantage in size and strength, they forecheck hard, and Rempe is a monster that other teams are taking note of and won't be able to handle him.

Cyulle and Rempe can be like the Bash Brothers from D2.
