Nick had some real straight ahead speed, could not turn for shit. Another guy that most other enforcers seemed to like. Good guy.Any old timers getting Fotiu vibes from him?

He's like the real life version of Doug Glatt from the movie Goon, except Rempe can skate and play. Deslauriers asking him to fight during warm ups was like Ross Rhea challenging Doug Glatt. I want to see this kid play against Tom Wilson.
You had me at pepperoni nipsAnother great interview in the locker room after the game. No shirt of course.
Unlike Meeka who’s too embarrassed of his zero muscle definition and pepperoni nips, Remper is a pure chad, should be in Meeka’s spot on PP1, 1st line, and should take his A.
Pepperoni is just low rent, off brand soppressasta. Fight me.You had me at pepperoni nips
Was Rempe this type of player in junior or is this essentially him adopting whatever role necessary to stick.

Having mental images of Emily dipping slices of soppressata in EVOO and feeding them to you while she reads you French poetry.I love soppresata sprinkled with black pepper and dipped in a little olive oil

He hasn't fought unless challenged. He didn't go looking for the fights.I like him, but for me he has to relax now, he's already proven he's a heavyweight, he doesn't have to line up against every tough guy in the league. Fight when you need to now.
I didnt mean he was gonna coast around and eat fried chicken. I meant, these staged fights he's doing, no need of it anymore, he's proved himself already. Play your game, and fight when necessary. His fight against Seganthaler for example, as opposed to Martin and Deslaurier where it had nothing to do with anything that was going on, just an exhibition, he's proven he can fight, now go play hockey and fight for a reasonLast thing Rempe should do is relax. Notwithstanding even whether he gets into another fight---his best chance at staying in the lineup is forecheck hard, be responsible away from the puck and hit anything that moves. Just the last thing though is going to get some players to challenge him.....that is an is what it is. The other thing is that at least some of the tough guys around the league are going to ask him.....and for them (or at least some of them) it's a way for them to justify getting an NHL paycheck. That in part is why both Martin and Deslauriers have asked him. I suspect when we play Florida on March 4 Gadjovich is going to be looking for him. Also Florida is the toughest and nastiest team in the East which in part is why they're on top of the Atlantic and so we'll want Rempe playing against them and we have another with them on March 23. There may be run ins coming with Jeannot (TB) a round 2 with Deslauriers, MacDermid (Colo) and Xekhaj (Mtl). We have games left with all those teams and if those teams know Rempe is going to play and throw the kind of hits he has been those teams will dress those guys.
Yes but two of his fights were staged fights, he's proven himself, just play hockey and fight when necessary now. If he fights everyones goon he's gonna end up with broken bones in his hands of face.He hasn't fought unless challenged. He didn't go looking for the fights.
So if he is challenged to fights by tough guys like he was against the Piles and Flyers is he supposed to walk away? He has not initiated 1 fight yet.I didnt mean he was gonna coast around and eat fried chicken. I meant, these staged fights he's doing, no need of it anymore, he's proved himself already. He didn't. I remember reading about him after the Rangers drafted him and as you know, it definitely wasn't the profile of a goon. This is what has me worried, that even the ignorant fans of his own team are labelling him a "goon" because a couple of tough guys in-division games searched the rookie out BEFORE the puck was even dropped to test him.Love seeing Matt in the bigs, I don’t remember him dropping gloves so much in juniors tho!
and he's already tied Goodrow in goals .....In just 3 games, the kid is already tied for 10th on the team in PIMs
Deslauriers out there looking like Mikhail Gorbachev after that fight.Watch the end of the fight. Deslauriers wanted that shit to end. He grabs Rempe's leg to throw him off balance.
He was a shade under %50 the year he was drafted. Here's an article from before he was drafted. He discusses face-offs and getting kicked out of the dot essential because he was too big lol.Can the wee lad win faceoffs? Asking for a friend…
Adopting role/he's a willing opponent. He was never just a fighter, just a guy who went through a huge growth spurt at (I think) 17 and is still trying to find the best way to use his body. Was Rempe this type of player in junior or is this essentially him adopting whatever role necessary to stick.
