If he keeps looking like he does right now he absolutely will be.

part of the situation with a Dumba(2.5M)/RNH(6M) trade that is problematic is the salaries. Another problem, with McDavid's and Draisaitl's coming to prominence, is that RNH will be getting less offensive opportunities which will drive his numbers down, making RNH appear overpaid.

You don't want to pay 6M/yr. for a defensive center.

As far as a deal with NYR for Dumba? I think the Wild have to wait a bit and see just what Dumba might become. Keep him with Suter so he can soak up some defensive tricks from the master. If he becomes steady in his own end, he will be an absolute stud for years to come. You don't trade him.
If you do trade him, it's for a player that has legit top line talent(i.e. overpayment), not what is being peddled here. Also, some of the offers are unworkable cap wise to the point of being bizarre. The Wild are right at the cap. They can not take on salary.

Both are still valid options for the Rangers.

To get either I would prefer to trade two defenseman for one. Like Klein + Mcilrath and something else for either?

I'm sure you would prefer to give two lesser defensemen for a much better one but why in the hell would Minn? Yea they wouldn't.

our youngest core is not available
if we go by Ws, not Stepan, then want top $ for Zuc

also no ELC protected Skjei or Graves who have significant upside, IMO.

Zuc + Staal + rights to Nanne
10.2 cap

for
Dumba, Tuch, not nec. top, top, but decently high LD prospect, Wild 1st and cap dump(s)

This is nice and all but no way Min would do this. That is too much cap and the pieces you want are worth more than what your offering Zuc is nice but Staal and that contract are not.

RNH isn't exactly off to a spectacular start......Pirri is 4g 2a atm. You can't determine value based on a few games.

yes but you can look at them, where they were drafted and what their projection was, weight that against their NHL time so far and consider development curves to determine which has a better chance of getting close to their ceiling and assign value to the potential that they still have and add it to their value based of straight performance. Dumba is definitely looking valuable now. Of course take into account he's been playing with probably the best crutch you can have as a defenseman in the NHL.
