Nope. I am not. You're saying our depth is an issue but when we're completely healthy, Brodin is on the 3rd pair.

Nah, I'm saying that if we trade a dman our bottom pair would suck. 1-5 are awesome. I'm not thrilled with anyone below that getting regular minutes. For just #6 that's fine and pretty standard for the nhl. Having two of those guys as regulars would be rough. That all I was saying.

Edit: if you're referring to the whole league, Nashville. If you're referring to within the organization that's my point

Folin has played very well so far. Bottom pair would probably end up Reilly(Olofsson)/Folin and Prosser eating popcorn.

Don't the Wild need help on defense and wing?

I'd say JT Miller for one of those two might work if the Wild need help on the wings, which I thought they did, although I could be wrong. I don't really follow them.

But yeah, the original offer is garbage for Minnesota, even as a Ranger fan.

Wild need a 30+ goal scoring wing (young).

But will settle for a young/cheap 1C :sarcasm:

Puck moving defenseman Brodin is at speed for 46 points this season. Dumba is playing 25min a night with Spurgeon injured.

I d think Wild is going for full post draft value, when everyone is looking for top4 D.
 I give you Tyler Pitlick(on pace for 41 goals) for Matt Dumba

the wild are winning now. If they didn't make a huge move while they were stagnant, they sure aren't going to make one now

A lot of you will be eating bag full of crows for "muh 7 points per season" talk. Just wait and see.

Powerplay minutes and not being NHL leader in D-zone starts will do that...

I mean everyone needs a young 30+ goal scoring winger. How many of those are actually available? JT scored 22 last year and is 23 years old. He'll only get better. Whether he scores 30+ one day remains to be seen, but I would say he's a pretty safe bet for at least 20-25 going forward.

I do think he has the tools to score 30 and I'd like the Rangers to keep him, but he's probably the most attractive piece the Rangers have that's realistically available.

What about:

Miller
Skjei

For

Spurgeon
Nick Boka

Would rather not move Skjei.

Wasn't Dumba getting healthy scratched against the Leafs? What was that about? He played pretty well

BB's explanation was the same criticism leveled at Dumba by Yeo and and Torchetti and i'm pretty sure the GM...He tries to do to much. That's another way of saying he's making poor decisions.

I think Suter is the perfect partner for him (but he may not be the perfect partner for Suter). Dumbs gets sheltered in that Suter is crazy good at reading the ice and knowing what's going to happen next so he's already covering for Dumba's bad pinch before he makes it. Two, he's going to be spending more TOI with higher quality forwards which helps gloss over the warts as well.

Dumba has a ton of talent and a phenomenal drive, but he still needs to pick his spots better. A lot better if he's not playing with an elite defenseman as a partner.

Before that he wasn't playing well. He ended up playing that game because Scandella was sick. Then he has been paired with Suter the past couple games.

He's gotten much better at that this year already. You can see him learning and improving. He'll get there.

That 37.5% shooting percentage tho. Brodin has one outlier season and people look at that as the norm to devalue him. He will probably end in the 20-25 point range while being a rock in the defensive zone. Dumba, in my opinion, is benefiting from playing so many minutes. He has to dial back to conserve energy.

Perhaps all the TOI is good for Dumba's game. Tires him out so he doesn't over try, which has been his problem in the past. Whatever is going on with Dumba, it's very exciting. He is still bombing it from the point....been killing posts recently.

It's been exciting watching the last few games! Hope he can keep it up :yo:

Perhaps with Brodin and Dumba doing so well that opens up a bigger trade with Spurgeon or Scandella.

If Folin continues to play well, and Olofsson stays healthy, something has got to give. It's ridiculous that a Brodin or Scandella play on a third pairing, when they could be on a first pairing on some teams.

i fully agree and in no way think he should be the first to go. just saying he isn't suddenly a non-qualified first pairing defenseman this year
