Don't the Wild need help on defense and wing?

I'd say JT Miller for one of those two might work if the Wild need help on the wings, which I thought they did, although I could be wrong. I don't really follow them.

But yeah, the original offer is garbage for Minnesota, even as a Ranger fan.

Wild need a 30+ goal scoring wing (young).
But will settle for a young/cheap 1C :sarcasm:

What about:
Miller
Skjei

For

Spurgeon
Nick Boka

I mean everyone needs a young 30+ goal scoring winger. How many of those are actually available? JT scored 22 last year and is 23 years old. He'll only get better. Whether he scores 30+ one day remains to be seen, but I would say he's a pretty safe bet for at least 20-25 going forward.

I do think he has the tools to score 30 and I'd like the Rangers to keep him, but he's probably the most attractive piece the Rangers have that's realistically available.

Would rather not move Skjei.

Removing Skjei. Not just because of value, but it creates another hole on defense.

Robbing Peter to pay Paul, basically.

Fair.

What about Miller, Graves, Ott 2nd 2018?

our youngest core is not available
if we go by Ws, not Stepan, then want top $ for Zuc

also no ELC protected Skjei or Graves who have significant upside, IMO.

Zuc + Staal + rights to Nanne
10.2 cap

for
Dumba, Tuch, not nec. top, top, but decently high LD prospect, Wild 1st and cap dump(s)

I really like Zuc but I think the Wild would pass, and that wouldn't work capwise from a Wild standpoint anyways.

There's nothing on this thread that interests me. Wild is better off with keeping the D-core intact.

Hell no! He's your problem, not ours. Also, thinking you will get Dumba+Tuch+1st in a package is insane.

Man... I know better than to read a Rangers trade thread so this is my own fault but holy hell that's bad. Like... forgot to take your meds bad. Rangers have nothing the Wild need. next.

We've just been Bernmeistered!

And who the hell is Nick Boka?

Some of these offers make me feel like I'm in a middle of a Python skit.

Team works, why tinker? Also nothing enticing presented in this thread.

Fair.

What about Miller, Graves, Ott 2nd 2018?

That's just as bad for the Rangers in a different way.

If they're giving up Graves or Skjei along with Miller, I'd want one of Dumba or Brodin in return along with a better prospect than Boka.

Graves was an AHL All-Star in his first season last year as a 20 year old. He's 6'5, mobile and has a shot that's been clocked around 105. I personally wouldn't move him unless it's as part of a deal for a very good young defenseman with some room to grow.

IMO Graves is the real deal. top 4 potential and a physical force. He is what McIlrath was supposed to be when drafted.. I think by mid season Graves will make skjei available in a trade to upgrade the RD.. similar to buchnevich making duclair available.. Ideally NYR would love to keep both but with McD and Staal on the left there is only room for 1 to play so it all depends who the organization has higher on the depth chart.. I think its graves but skjei is gona be a heck of a player as well. RD is an issue that needs to be addressed unfortunatley

Why do the Wild want Zuc? I'm missing something here. Guys a nice player but I'm not moving any part of our primary D for him, let alone adding Tuch and/or a 1st if I'm GMCF.

Dont see why MIN would move either of them without giving them a very long look to see how they develop and play under a new Boudreau system, especially for Dumba who excels on the offensive side and Boudreau notoriously brings out offensive ability in his teams

Patiently waiting for the day when people realize that Staal's contract is unmovable. Also, wondering why Minnesota, who has five defensemen to protect, would take him. And... add seven million of cap in the process. And gut their futures.

Said a guy where the other team specified Ws, and apparently wanted Zuc for free!:help::shakehead

Do you even realize how bad that deal was? Sure, you trade a good player but you also add an anchor on top of him in the deal. You won't get THREE former/current 1st round picks for that AND a good LHD prospect. Not to mention Minnesota has NO WAY to add that much cap. All our big cap hits are meaningful players, which adds value to your side as well if we include a "cap dump"...

Brodin is a LHD, I don't think the Rangers would be interested in him at all considering they lack quality top 4 RHD.

What prospects you have with similar value to RNH? Dumba-RNH deal was in the works this summer.

This deal didn't actually happen for a reason and that reason was that Dumba really isn't as valuable as RNH? Just saying.
