Is Messi somebody I should know? Yesterday I thought Messi was short for Messier.

One of the best players in soccer the last few decades. Arguably the best, but I prefer to watch paint dry rather than watch soccer so I can't really elaborate.

You could compare it to not knowing who Gretzky or Michael Jordan is, in the most popular sport in the world.

(Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo will be remembered as the greatest ever. They have spent their entire careers duking it out over who is the greatest, but that really comes down to a matter of taste.)

No offense intended to anyone. I'm just not a soccer fan. I had heard of Ronaldo. He is on TMZ occasionally.

Smalls: I was gonna put the ball back.
Squints: But it was signed by Babe Ruth!
Smalls: Yeah, you keep telling me that! Who is she?
Ham Porter: WHAT? WHAT?
Kenny: The sultan of swat!
Bertram: The king of crash!
Timmy: The colossus of clout!
Tommy: The colossus of clout!
All: BABE RUTH!
Ham Porter: THE GREAT BAMBINO!
Smalls: Oh my god! You mean that's the same guy?

Wait??? Messi also played baseball for the Yankees in the 1920-30s? Woah :D

And Neymar, who is mentioned in the tweet, was to Messi like Malkin is to Crosby. *Was* because he's leaving Barcelona FC.

And VoynovsParoleOffice is a great name.

LA Liga officials tried to stop the Neymar sale, because they are afraid that other fans lose interest in LA Liga when one the most profiled players is moving to France. :)

Anyway enough about soccer and summer transfers. And back to topic - why is Mats Zuccarello such a competive player in hockey? Is that all skills or does he need some sort of basic raw talent since he was born, or was it how he trained on daily basis in his youth or perhaps a combination?

It`s not easy to compete if your skill talent, focus, or IQ is lacking in one particular sport, and NHL is such a rough place to compete in since it`s about physic, speed, and balance skills as well.

He's the Norwegian Jesus.

None taken! I completely get it. When you're from a country where few give a crap about that sport, it's not weird at all.

Not that many years ago I wouldn't be able to tell Eli Manning from an Ohio State punter or A-Rod from a triple A Bullpen pitcher, either.

So, is anyone with me thinking that Zuccha will be a 60+ point producer this year?

My thinking is that with our supposedly improved offensive play from our defenseman, it should allow us better possession and Zuccha would play a big part in it.

It's certainly possible. I think he sits in the 50+ point range though.

I feel he has basically been a 60 point scorer for 3 of the last 4 years with the exception being 2015.

59 points in 76 games (2014)
61 points in 81 games (2016)
59 points in 80 games (2017)

I think he will stay in that 55-65 point range and that is pretty darn good to me. :)

Those are not boos. They're Zuccs! Zuccs! --Sam Rosen

His stats point that out, I think this will be he's BEST year yet, providing he doesn't hurt himself hiking, playing Soccer, sky diving, skiing, sumo wrestling etc.

Gotta love it! Sam has to know that we KNOW that already, right? Maybe he says that for the ONE new viewer?

It'll still be worth it, haha. I never get tired of hearing him say it.

I hope Sam Rosen can comment another season - he could take a rest while Rangers are in California trip for example since that could be exhausting based on his age with time zones differences among other things like busy airports. He mentioned that last season it was tiresome and hot in LA! :)
