30 in 52, which is on pace for 47 points. (I predicted him 45 at bet before the season, I hope he keeps it up).

That's our 4th best scorer behind Zegras, Terry, and Rico. At least it's good to see that our young guys are taking the charge. With them getting better and with added depth, we should be turning some things around as a franchise, but it will take some time obv.

I really looking forward to him having a full offseason to train (gotta imagine he'll come to the WC). Hopefully no injuries tho.

Him and Z were very good last night. At this point just want to see them produce and have good games. 29 more to go. The loses aren’t upsetting when Mac or Z are putting up points and looking good.

That loss last night was definitely upsetting and a chore to watch regardless.

I'd prefer he not participate at the WC. Kid needs a summer off and be able to just train his body along with skating. I want him to work on his endurance. It'll take a couple more years until he gets into that NHL-man shape & body to be able to be dominant in the league.

It's not like playing in the WC is going to eat up his summer, the tournament is over before summer even really begins, he's got plenty of time to train and still compete in the WC, I'd love to see him at the WC it's another chance to see him and Bedard play together and a chance to add another big prize to his trophy case

Here's the link for the McTavish point total thread for those who want to review it: link.
Can't find my vote there but I know it was discussed at some point somewhere else as well.

Eye test as well shows me McT has been better than I expected and I'm happy to be wrong in his case. Now important that he can keep progressing

McTavish hasn't had a summer to recover since we drafted him. He went all the way to the Memorial Cup last year.

Mem Cup: Jun 20-29th
Ducks Dev Camp: July 12-16th
WJC-20: Aug 9 - 20th (that doesn't count the warm-up game dates)
Rookie Camp: Sept 15th
Rookie Tourney: Sept 16th-19th
Training Camp: Sept 22-25th

For comparison, this year's Mem cup is from May 26 - Jun 4th.

We were trying to baby McTavish last off-season and told him not to go to the Dev camp. The WC will always be there for the rest of his career. Right now, I want McTavish to develop his body along with R&R so he can handle being a top-6 center next year for us.

He'll still have 3 months to do whatever the hell he wants even if he does play in the WC's

I listed his grueling schedule which covers the span of two seasons without a summer and your response is, "Who cares if he's looking ragged out there around the 50 game mark. ehhhh... run him the hell down some more! You can sleep when you're dead, sgt!" lmfao

Really want him to hit 50. That to me is a good number where vet Top 6 forwards hit. But for a 19/20yo on a bad team, that’s really good.
His numbers have already exceeded rookie Corey Perry in 2005-06 season.
Perry in 05-06 at age 20/21: 25 points in 56 games.
While Perry did average 4 less minutes than McTavish at same age, he also played on a conference finals team.
In the cup finals season 06-07 Perry had 44 points in 82 games and that team was stacked.

IMO, he's going to be a significant reason why the Ducks will be better next season. Right now, he's a top-6 center in training who plays the two-way game. Next year, hopefully, he'll be bigger, stronger, a little faster, and have more endurance. If he improves, then Z gets sheltered to score more regardless of our defensive situation.

Before the season I did not believe we'd even be talking about this but... in the remaining 25 games he needs 18 points to hit 50.

I think he probably will not hit it, it would require a much higher PPG than he has ever produced and I'd suspect our scoring going down even further. But it isn't as far-fetched as I previously thought. Currently, his pace would allow him to finish with 46.

It's a lot of pressure on young McTavish, but I hope he inspires the others with his ethics to become better versions of themselves. Some take pride in it and others aren't like that.

I kind of get the lone wolf type of vibe from McTavish, more of the Scott Niedermayer type when it comes to leadership. Anyone know better?
