Fair enough but McTavish remains your future Captain. :)
Oh I agree, and I feel like he'll probably get the harder assignments when matching up. Carlsson will probably the focus of the offense (more points, hence why I think of him as 1C) where McTavish will be asked to be more of a 2 way force and more draws in the defensive end. He's already the best faceoff man on the team and while I think Carlsson will improve more/close the gap, I think that's one of the areas Mac will be better.

McTavish might low key be the most important forward pick the Ducks have made since Getzlaf. It was always Carlsson vs. Fantilli at 2, and I don't think there was a wrong choice there. Zegras was a gimme pick (should have gone higher). There were a lot of players on the board that ranked around (and even ahead of) Mac in the draft. IF this franchise wins another Cup, the McTavish and Mintyukov picks could be the two... criticized? Critiqued? Not sure what the word would be... but the two picks that could have gone a lot of ways that turned things around.

McTavish is a GREAT pick. The Ducks are loaded going forward.

His development is going to be really fun to follow. For a No.3 overall, I think he's somewhat flown under the radar, but I suspect that may change real soon.
I think its mainly due to Covid shutting down the OHL, a lot of teams didn't have much to go on and thus less media buzz was generated about him going into his draft year. I have a hard time deciding between McTavish, Carlsson and Mintyukov as my favorite player.

Unlucky tonight. Could have had a goal in the last few minutes to tie things up - hit the post. He played really well. Very confident out there.

Zegras-MacTavish-Carlsson is a formidable group down the middle. Kinda reminds me of when Colorado had MacKinnon-Duchene-O'Reilly coming up thru the ranks. With the Kings, it looks like Byfield is the only C prospect breaking out, and there's no guarantee he'll even play center because the Kings have a terrible habit of converting C prospects to wingers. Turcotte can't catch a f***ing break in the A (only headshots), and Vilardi was basically swapped for Dubios. That trade favors the Jets if Vilardi stays healthy. Hell, even Kempe was drafted as a C and is now @ wing...

Zegras probably moves off center if all 3 develop as expected.

He should get the C next season IMO.
Not until the Ducks are clearly outside the bottom 7 or so. No need to put that burden on the youngster. If they have a desire to have a C, hand it to Fowler or some other veteran, who would have no issue handing it over when they truly turn the corner.
