I think the real reason for acquiring Appleton is Chevy wanted a more balanced ratio between redheads, and dark haired players. Now we have 3 or 4 redheads, in Schvechnikov. Connor, and now Appleton. Gives us a a good balance ratio

So for the Seattle expansion in the end we lost a 4th. In the Vegas expansion we lost a chance to get Nick Suzuki in order to keep Enstrom and get Vesalainen. Pretty stark difference in value lost there.
