So Chevy didn’t go hibernate at the cottage until Tuesday, hmmm….. how do you like them apples?

C’mon, what else you got Chevy?

Honestly though, Jets are likely looking at futures in any potential Copp and Stastny deal so getting a body back in Appleton that can immediately play at least 3rd line is helpful in icing a semi competitive roster without an overload of all AHL depth players.

This seems to be the type of moves I was expecting. We are bringing in players with control. Appelton is a useful bottom 6 player that can PK and chip in some secondary offense. He also shouldn't be too expensive to retain for a couple of years in the summer.

I like the move and imo it doesn't preclude us from selling Copp. I expect they will likely keep Stastny.

Are you people really expecting the Jets to sell tomorrow? Doesn't sound like something Chevy/Chipman to do. Their history doesn't suggest that. I'll believe it when I see it. They're max cap in and 4 points out. They're going for it.

This is about reforming the Copp/Lowry/Appleton line and making the playoffs.

Yes, this absolutely is a possibility. Imagine if Helly gets his game back. This is a really dangerous team.

That said, bringing in Apples (love the trade) does give Chevy the flexibility to trade Copp. Not sure what the Jets do about Stastny. This is a really interesting scenario for Chevy... I can see them selling but I can also see them go for it.

Exciting day tomorrow.

So for the Seattle expansion in the end we lost a 4th. In the Vegas expansion we lost a chance to get Nick Suzuki in order to keep Enstrom and get Vesalainen. Pretty stark difference in value lost there.

And yet we were in a much better position (on paper) for the Vegas draft. We had a lot of exempt young players. Go figure.

:eek3:

Vegas did a masterful job in the expansion draft.

Seattle, not so much.

We were defence heavy and to protect our forwards we needed Toby to waive so we could keep the D core together in the LV expansion draft. The trade to keep Toby is questionable but you never get there if Toby doesn’t waive his NMC. Anyways nice pickup by Chevy. Apples is easily worth a 4th. But his stock sure fell after a year in Seattle.
