Blues fans think they're playing bad defense. We got a goal and some chances late, but most of what I saw was completely suffocating. Are they usually even better or are the fans just frustrated?

Well that's always the thing with Nash, if he's not really in the zone he floats around and isn't too effective. When he's in the zone he scores in bunches and looks engaged. Hopefully his problem was mainly just settling into the season after missing so much time and we'll get this play for the rest of the season (though I'm expecting a goal per game finish)

Sooo...what exactly makes Pietriangelo "better" than McDonagh? I mean I"m not exactly looking really closely at him tonight but I'm not seeing him stand out either. I think McDonagh's a better skater, comparable defense at least, the only thing I see AP doing is he has a better shot

He produces more offensively and is better defensively.

There has been stretches the Rangers have controlled the cycle. But, yeah the Blues are dominating defensively.

Really I'm just feeling more comfortable saying McDonagh is plenty good to be mentioned alongside the guys in the league that people generally think of as the best defensemen. I am a homer, and I am high on McDonagh however

the stl board saying in their GDT that hes been sloppy this year and suggesting the contract has gotten him lazy lol. the main board will tell u hes a god though. he will be broken back down to earth soon though, happens to every young star dman.

Very solid, he saved a really good chance halfway through the second period, off of Patrik Berglund I think. Having a good game though, not flashy.

Steady. One positioning flub, but that was to be expected coming to a new team.

They're both phenomenal, but for me it comes down to game seven of the stanley cup finals and who do I take. It's tough, and maybe it's fanboy bias, but I take McDonagh right now. (Also to be clear, I watch a lot of the Blues because I live out West currently, and I like to keep an eye on the good teams)

Yes, I've often thought they are missing that certain extra flair that championship teams usually exhibit.
Very workmanlike, definitely have talent.
