Is this last 3 years? Honestly I’m pretty surprised Nylander and Matthews only have 4 more goals than Marner. Thought it was way more tbh. Especially Nylander.

marner has played 3 more games than Nylander and 2 more than Matthews. Only makes about a 1 goal difference so marner still would be within 5 of Nylander.

I think injuries/illness derailed the latest against the Bruins.

Honest question for you.

Who is better Matthews or Tavares?

That makes a lot of sense. I think Matthews is better. But Tavares scores more timely goals. Assuming we are talking specifically in playoff context

Going way too hard after either Marner (who leads the team in points the last 3 years and has been one of the best defensive wingers in the league) or Rielly (who has the best Relative goal differential of ANY player in he playoffs over that stretch) comes across like an old man yelling at cloud. It's reached new levels of unhinged status.
LOL what is this nonsense. You post things that are simply incorrect, and the rant about people being unhinged. Get a grip.

The Marner (and Rielly) stuff is silly to me because other factors have been so much more of an issue in the playoffs.

I've posted this before but it's just so telling.
Rielly, Marner and Matthews 5v5 over the last 3 playoffs:

Rielly 5v5:
Goals for/60: 3.07
Goals against/60: 1.55

Marner 5v5:
Goals for/60: 3.08
Goals against/60: 1.72

Matthews 5v5:
Goals for/60: 2.81
Goals against/60: 2.06

The entire rest of the team without them:
Goals for/60: 1.57
Goals against/60: 3.14

With so many series lost so tightly, having the worst performing bottom 6 in the league and running Campbell/Samsonov vs. Vasy/Bob/Swayman have been the primary factors. The PP has also been an issue too of course but if the rest of the team were as dominant 5v5 as guys like Marner and Rielly have been, this team would be going to the finals every year even with the same PP.

I mean, it was nice seeing actual playoff goaltending for the first time in forever with Woll in net right? (he's now 3-0 in the playoffs). The old management never got the team a playoff goalie and made stupid decisions with it's support cast. Thats like 20 million + cap a year on moronic choices..... that should be something we all agree on but instead I see quibbles about 1-2 million in salary for players that actually produced. Have back at it. Maybe some around here will get their wish and we'll all love Marner winning a couple cups for someone else. At least the media hasnt starting talking about phantom hot dog carts with him yet (How that writer still has a job is insane other than the fact he still has support and even gets reposted by some around here).
Great post

I believe it’s in the playoffs, Also Marner has outpaced Nylander and Matthews in points during the last 3 regular seasons, scoring 1 less point than Nylander in 15 less games most notably.

The Matrix
Leafs top points over the last 3 playoffs:

1. Marner: 25 (PPG)
2. Matthews: 24
3. Rielly: 21

...and, yes, if every player on the Leafs had Marners 5v5 goal differential, the Leafs would probably have a cup lol.
This has been beat to death. He inflated his stats in that Tampa series which had a few blowout games.

2018-2021 playoffs - 19 games - 2 goals, 10 assists

That’s impressive isn’t it.

Again we can ask, what big impact goal or assist did he have in any playoff game?

11 goals in 57 playoff games, that’s pathetic really, and primarily playing in the first round where scoring tends to be higher. I’m sure you will float, he’s a playmaker though. Well, for $11 mil, I would expect a player be able to score his own goals and not solely rely on other people for points.

Nylander has 20 goals in 54 games, and was making 6.9mil.

Matthews hasn’t been great either, but he did take over a couple of games here and there. Marner for the most part has been irrelevant in the postseason.
