I rarely watch interviews and I haven't heard a single word Marner's said this season. I saw him a couple of weeks ago on the news when the volume wasn't on though, and I remember thinking that he looks much less uncomfortable that he has in the past so that lines up with your impressions. Or maybe, Marner's interviews are always better with no sound? ;)

Definitely paid too much. I like what Dubas did here probably more than most people do but that contract is #1 on the list of his mistakes and what a doozy it was.
lol most hockey player interviews are probably best without volume really, you're probably on to something

Willy has responded by producing more and is a plus 5 players with 6 goals and 4 assist but Marner has 1 goal and 10 assist and is a Minus 1.
The only minus player I think among the top 6 or so scorer on the team.
What’s up with that?
The stats that concerns me the most is that MM has as many shots as WIllie with a 3.6% shooting %.

AS someone who studying sign language now. I welcome the idea that putting players on mute, lol

I don’t hate Marner. I don’t really hate anyone. I don’t like him on the team at the price point and certainly not for any higher.
I totally dislike his sense of entitlement and nothing is ever his fault and how dare we ever think it is. This is on display every time he steps up to the mic, but hate him nope
I do find it comical the lengths some will go to try and make out like he is this awesome player that we could never do without

I don’t think he’s a player we can’t do without. I just think losing him to UFA for nothing is shitty. I also think our window to move off him and not have it be so risky has closed. Now walking from him is a huge risk, I’m not saying it can’t or won’t pan out but you even have to admit it’s a ton of uncertainty.

I see your point. BUT if this coming playoffs end with the same results like the past while our top guys once again choke. Does it even make sense to bring MM and JT back and hope they will turn it around.

How much money did Marner miss out on with regards to being denied performance bonuses on his rookie deal?

Just trying to make sense of his current deal.

It was just shy of 2 or 3 million I believe. Which seems to be a part of why he got the 10.9 imo. Probably drove it up a little for sure

Thanks. Do you know if it was the norm for 4th overalls to get this in their contract ?

Yes it was quite normal for 4th overalls to get. Marner was the only 4th overall after the new CBA that didn’t get at the time. Lou never gave them out but the players he drafted were usually lower in the first round/draft

what the heck do you mean by that?
why does no one ever actually comment, just follow their agenda ... there is little discussion on this discussion board
It was a set play, everyone had a part in it.
It was a comment :help:
Not everyone is out to get you.

Maybe the script was a MM one timer, so MM can have more goals, lol
I’m sure they have plays drawn up for that as well.
