This is going to be a blowout win for Svech, rightfully so

whys that?
player a had 94 points in 82 games as a 21 year old
player b is on pace for around a point per game season as a 21 year old though.

Player a also has 67 in 59 games last shortened season which is around pacing for 96 points.
player currently has 17 points in 11 games which is on pace for around 85 points in 56 games (shortened season)

hows it a blow out? please explain.

Why are the polls all about Marner?

Marner has far more assists the past 3 seasons (130) than Svechnikov has points (107)....contract would be the only limiting factor in this argument imo..

Marner is obviously better right now but why wouldn't you take the little worse player making 10mil less? What's the point of taking contracts into consideration when one is on their elc?

Ehhh with contracts taken into account I'd have to go Svechnikov. Produced at a slightly better rate than Marner in his D+2 and is PPG+ in this season (although this season is f***ed up) Even though Marner is better right now and there's no guarantee Svech is going to be a consistent PPG+ player, Covid is going to keep that Svech contract down.

Not really fair to Marner comparing him to an ELC player

Svech. He is the more complete player. Skill, physical, leadership.
While Marner is immensely talented, he is a complementary player.

Close. Marner had 94 points in his draft +4 season and this is only svech's d+3 so he has another season to reach marners high. Doubt he gets 11 mil

Ill go and say for now, marner is a bit above. Its marner’s amazing skills/playmaking abilities that are above. The goalscoring is svech’s calling card, although he’s still developping, he’s gonna score a lot. svech is a better physical presence, and his using it well, 16 hits vs 4. Contracts obviously goes for svech but i fond it irrelevant if you want to compare players.

Any time you mix in the contract factor with Marner it's going to be a stomp for the other guy.

From a size, athleticism, goal scoring POV, I think Svechnikov vs Matthews would be the more straight forward comparison. Marner would go up against Aho.
