From the few times, I've seen him play and in highlight packages, Knies seems like a guy who has more IQ and is less physically gifted than Kreider. Kreider came into the league as one of the top skaters with size and pretty good hands. He had the ability to blow up into a monster power forward but hasn't really developed a ton past his full 3rd/4th seasons. Similar to JVR too. Both of these guys were content with earning a paycheque and just being a role player who chips in here and there. Both are allergic to laying the body.

I never thought Kreider had the hands tbh. He always struck me as a guy with great size speed and shot but not much in the hands and IQ department.

JVR actually makes more sense as a comp for Knies now that I think about it.

Knies is going to be an absolute stallion out there. Can’t believe we got him when we did.

once again, getting value out of the picks we have in the mid rounds

Depressing to think we could have been without Hunter. How many top-90 picks did we have those years?

I think his best comp is a Saad/ Kreider combo. Hopefully, he learns to use his body better to get him more opportunities and impact the game in more ways. I've never seen a player more dominant than JVR in the NCAA in the last 20 years. He came into the league and completely changed his playing style. He was a monster PWF in the NCAA.

@kyle_cush. Quite the eventful game for #Leafs prospect Axel Rindell today inn Jukurit's 8-2 loss against Tappara. Rindell was on-ice for 8 goals, both Jukurit goals and 6 Tappara goals. Finished a -4 in 21:09 TOI

What happened to that guy who said Rindell was elite and a stud defensively

I had knies as our first pick.
Someone one this board thought it wouldn't because I think his skating wasn't the best..
Help Mathews isn't the fastest but can wire the puck.

It's very hard to watch USHL games free, so scouting the USHL is almost entirely trusting people's reports, highlight reels, and stat scouting for non-professionals. Information came out after about issues which caused a slow start, but his production was second round pick level. It's looked like a steal since almost day 1 for even a guy like me who had him ranked at like ~55 because of reported issues with skating.

First Impressions

kressler plays on the first line.

- active as a center: a lot of centers I see just focus on taking care of the middle. Kressler likes to be active and aggressive and help his teammates double assignments
- has some skill
- skating is pretty good.
- i like his pace. Can make plays under pressure...at least at the ohl level
- high workrate
- doesn't shy away from physical contact. Likes to get into people's personal space despite small body
- reminds me of tyler ennis
- gets a lot of touches, great at being open

Pretty good pker. He just played 1:43 on the pk. Plays the bumper on pp.

Generated 2 high scoring opportunities.

Kressler scores shortie.

He nearly scored on another shortie, but then caused a penalty cuz he shoved a guy into the boards.

Any word on Amriov? I saw he's not been in the lineup 5 straight games? Do we know if he's injured? Sick? Healthy scratched?

If it's the latter, I imagine he and his agent may look to get him a release from his contract so he can come to N/A.

In his most recent press conference Salavat's coach said Amirov is injured.
