From the few times, I've seen him play and in highlight packages, Knies seems like a guy who has more IQ and is less physically gifted than Kreider. Kreider came into the league as one of the top skaters with size and pretty good hands. He had the ability to blow up into a monster power forward but hasn't really developed a ton past his full 3rd/4th seasons. Similar to JVR too. Both of these guys were content with earning a paycheque and just being a role player who chips in here and there. Both are allergic to laying the body.
I never thought Kreider had the hands tbh. He always struck me as a guy with great size speed and shot but not much in the hands and IQ department.
JVR actually makes more sense as a comp for Knies now that I think about it.
