Notes:
Amirov - Seems like they're taking it slow after his injury. Dominated in the preseason in the top-6, I doubt the Leafs will be thrilled if he's playing ~10 minutes a game all season.
Bobylyov - Might not even track him. Easily the worst player on this list.
Chebykin - Having a breakout season on a great team playing hardly more per game than Amirov. Never thought I'd say it, but if he can keep this up in those minutes there might be *something* there.
Hirvonen - Not playing big minutes, but my goodness is his team dominant. They lead the league in CF% (by 5.1%), and in OZS (by 5.2%). Somehow they're in 8th place in the league though. Not going to dig into it, but seems strange. Hirvonen being a positive rel player is a huge plus compared to last year. 3 points in 8 games isn't bad for a guy who's 8th in ATOI (for guys that have played more than 3 games).
Herzog - Dude's old. He's relatively productive, but I think this is his final year affiliated with us? Can't see him leaving that NLA paycheck to play in the AHL and probably not ever make the NHL.
Holmberg - Good production, good minutes, negative rel FF% is concerning as it may be due to him not facing 3rd line comp anymore. Obviously a guy to keep an eye on this year after having a great season last year and being the SHL playoff MVP.
Kizimov - Finally getting a shot with good minutes in the VHL and he's putting up his best production ever. If he keeps it up it means he's still relevant. If he picks it up or moves to the KHL, it could be more.
Kokkonen - Went from the #1 guy on arguably the worst team in the league to the #2 on a team in 4th place. The production has increased, but his oiSH% is through the roof. The negative rel may have something to do with the fact he's starting only ~35% of his shifts in the offensive zone, but somehow when he's on the ice his team has a .940~ oiSV%. Is he really good at defense? Maybe. It is looking like his new team is using him as the shutdown defenseman of all shutdown defenseman though.
Loponen - Bottom-pairing guy in the Liiga is a step up from last year. Doing pretty awful in virtually everything though.
Miller - 1.5PPG in the USHL as a D+2 is almost the minimum to staying relevant. It's been 2 games though.
Niemela - This guy is just so great. Taking on top-4 minutes, and dominating them based on rel.CF%. I've seen a bunch of negative shit about his defense, but it seems like his main issue is the fact goalies simply cannot make a save when he's on the ice (.854 sv%). Only he and his partner have below a .926 oisv% on the team, and their rel CF% dominates the rest of the top-4. Oh and he's almost PPG as a defenseman lol.
Ovchinnikov - He's playing in the KHL!!!...... on average ~2 minutes a game. Barely can get in the lineup. As I said before the season and it's been talked to death. This seems like it's going to be a wasted year of development no matter how you slice it.
Rindell - With Kokkonen gone, he's taken over #1 duties on this team. The team doesn't seem to trust him in the defensive zone because even though he plays almost 1 min/game more than any other defenseman, he and his partner lead the team in offensive zone starts. So he's getting big, cushy minutes, still has a negative rel (probably because of his poor defense), and the production is just "ok". Seems like another step back from how dominant he was the first half of last season.
Ahktyamov - Disappointing start.
Peksa - Almost as old as Artur and has played less games in the MHL than Ahktyamov has played in the VHL. Just a non-prospect at this point and I still don't get the pick.
