Hallander and Knies switching spots made it easy

It’s still a nice prospect pool of complementary guys, really. Probably more valuable here than elsewhere , but there’s nothing wrong with that.

The top 4 prospects are as strong as you'd like to see from a team that hasn't pick in the top half of the draft in 5 years .. Lily and Sandin as top 4 d-men, Robertson and Amirov as top 6 scoring winger options. All 4 should be NHLers in some capacity.

The "B" prospect list has some nice depth to it too. What's nice about this list is that it's from the 2nd-5th round. Some mid-round picks have had great post draft seasons to put themself in a legit prospect conversation. If the Leafs can get 1-2 of these guys as a regular that's a win.

The "C" list has some good depth IMO. Some names there have shown some interesting flashes of potential. Some real upside. Hopefully one can emerge as an NHLer.

Overall a lot to like out of farm which, again, it good to see when a team's been on the contending side of things for a few years.

6'8" is... wow height. In the off-chance he makes it, he'd be the tallest forward to ever lace them up in an NHL game (sharing the record with John Scott). Him and Brazeau on a line will bring back memories of Antropov/Ponikarovsky.

Idk if he's coming back, but if we have the chance to and don't run a line of Douglas-Elynuik-Brazeau I'm going to be majorly disappointed

Le Neuchâtelois Théo Rochette en stage avec les Toronto Maple Leafs

Another QMJHLer coming to the Leafs Development camp...

Theo Rochette. He was one of the guys from the QMJHL that I thought would have been a great add. He is small and his offensive game has not translated perfectly, but he plays a very mature defensive game and has a ton of prestige.

The first guy I think can legitimately earn an ELC with a strong development camp. He chose us over several other offers.

DONT forget Jo Ho SANG

You can see a lot more pop in his game this last season.

Yup. He has improved his offensive confidence the last 2 years while being stout defensively. Muzzin is the perfect partner for him and I liked their pairing those 2 games this season. He probably wasn't ready for those heavy usage minutes he got in those 2 games, but as a sheltered player he is ready.

I genuinely liked Rochette in his draft year (had him at 91 on my 2020 list, behind Suni and ahead of Rafkin in terms of undrafted guys that year), and had him on my short list of over-agers this.
I agree that he has the inside track on an ELC, compared to other invites.

Defensively responsible and can read the ice well at the junior level. Fingers crossed it translates

I don't post much at all in the Leafs' forums (I AM a Leafs guy, though), but I'm loving the Douglas signing! I'm from Windsor and have watched him since the Spitfires got him from Barrie in 2017. Huge kid, can throw the weight around, protect, and put up some points. He's a bit streaky offensively but the potential is certainly there. If he can work on his first few steps, this is a real find. Plus, he's also really good in the community and with the fans; always had a smile on and willing to help out. I'm eager to see what he'll do for the Marlies.

I had Rafkin in my top 125 this year. No idea why nobody would take a flyer on him. They were able to hold his rights for 4 years this time around (not 2), 16 points in 48 games in the Liiga as a 19 year old who will probably be more of a defensive specialist in the NHL... IQ is not the greatest but it is still good enough to become a quality bottom pairing defenseman who is physical and provide a bit of offensive value.

I just don't know with some NHL teams...

Rochette's offensive game is concerning for a guy his size, so I can see why he went undrafted twice. I think want to see how much he can add to his strength. His IQ is very high, he has great all-around ability, and I don't think he really has too many technical flaws either, but he will really need to strengthen up to make it. If he shows a strong commitment to improve there, I think we give him an ELC.

A ton of Danault comparisons. He plays a lot like him so I can see why.

This guy was looked at as a 1st rounder in the year leading up to his draft year. Quite a fall from grace.

Played for Team Canada at the U18, I think.
