Terrible, terrible news. If I'm Hoefenmayer I'm pissed.

I mean he is getting ice time. He wouldn't get much on the Marlies. If he cares about ice time, he should not be that pissed. If he doesn't like Kansas, then he likely wouldn't go in the first place.

I like this idea, if only to reward him for sticking around North America and trying to work on his game instead of asking to go to Europe.
Similar to Robertson, I like the idea of guys wanting to be here and working their butts of in training to prove they want this.

Hopefully from a guy like Liljgren we see a slight step forward in his strength and comfort level in the NHL. He has had a ton of time to workout, watch game film and pick the teams brain about what he needs to be doing differently at the NHL level.
I think the biggest thing for both Sandin and Liljegren is having other guys in the lineup who can support them until they can figure things out. Having all of Brodie/Rielly/Muzzin in the lineup isn't a luxury we had last year with both of them up.

Man he's gonna be so good.

Don't get me wrong, I think Amirov is gonna be great. I just think Jarvis is gonna be a top-line F.

Thank Lou and his stupid contract to Marleu. I honestly would have tried to find a way to keep him and save the 1st.

Hållander on first line and Holmberg on second line today vs Czech Republic. Game starts 19.00

Agreed! In the off season I thought it would make sense to have brought back Ron Hainsey on a league minimum type deal, and shot Marincin into the moon!

It would have added another veteran LHD (who can play RHD in a pinch)
Would have given you a bottom pairing option of Hainsey - Liljgren, Dermott/Sandin/Lehtonen - Bogosian, or if your playing a really physical team Hainsey - Bogosian.

Im still surprised Hainsey hasnt signed anywhere, he played 20 minutes a night last year on a bad Ottawa team and looked still like an average #4.

I’m excited for Pavel Gogolev. Anyone watch him who can comment?

Just needs a lot of work on a lot of things. Will have a good chance to prove himself on the Marlies but he needs 2 or 3 years before he's close to the NHL, and he will need to bring the work ethic he had with Guelph to get there.

Preliminary thoughts on joe miller for his first game back:
- crashes the net a lot. A lot. He is able to crash the net a lot because his timing is very good. In the game I watched, he didn't get boxed off much or didn't get ragdolled so this is a guy who knows how to pick his spots
- his skating is ok. However, when he is not crashing the net, he struggles to support the L1 or L2 and doesn't get enough puck touches. Miettinen, another f3, is much better at finding open space to unleash his shot
- for a very small guy, he doesn't get his a** kicked, methinks he has a strong centre of gravity or a wrestling background
- when he does have space, he shows pretty good set of hands
- the problem is that he rarely has enough space: what makes SDA (also a small prospect) projectable is his fast decision-making and therefore does not need much space, jack miller is decent at decision-making, but not as good as SDA
- he is a skill pick. He will probably need the full four years in minnesota
- he plays on chicago, which is a powerhouse team who employs belfry. It felt like even though he was on the 2nd line, he didn't play much. Also, there were instances where I saw his line (pasternak and fantilli, but i couldn't find miller). The first line of Farrell, Doan received the majority of playing time.
