it's kinda nuts how good our draft seems to have been in hindsight

despite not getting big guys, miettinen, hirvonen, amirov, niemela have been absolutely on fire and this doesn't usually happen across multiple rounds

Best part is you didn't even mention Ovchinnikov. Although Villeneuve seems to be having a disappointing season, I had him down for a big riser in our pool..

You haven't even gotten into the fact that Akhtyamov is also doing quite well and Rindell is having a breakout offensive season in Liiga. Both look like legit prospects regardless that the other 4 look a bit better.

I think niemla has been the best
He looks a bit like Kaberle

I was excited for Miettinen but I'm shocked he's doing this well as an international freshman.

I get the risks with Miettinen's size, but how does another team not take a chance on him?
His shot and skating is NHL ready today.

St.Louis
Nashville

LA , Minnesota and NYR currently have good pools too.

Carolina drafts so well. Nashville is really great at drafting defenseman but not forwards.

Agreed. Their biggest issue with not drafting well with forwards is that they never finish low enough in the standings to draft a star forward. But you'd think they would hit on some forwards at some point in rounds 2-4 the last 15 years. Tomasino and Afaneseyev look like nice prospects though.
