Kloke did a one on one with Liljegren. There was a lot of praise by Keefe on him.

"He’s shown great, great strides. He came in at 18 years old, and he’s been around, he’s been present for a very long time here now. So you get a lot of questions, and you’re wondering when it’s going to really happen for him,” said Keefe. “But in a lot of ways, based on age, he’s a guy that is somewhat fresh coming out of junior hockey in terms of his timeline. And we look at it from that sense, and you watch him play in the American League, and he looks like a guy that’s a veteran and is extremely confident.

Keefe also said he has added a lot of elements he didn't have before and grown a lot. Also mentioned with the defence being healthy, he hasn't gotten a chance, but knows if something happens, Liljegren is right there.

Are there any cap reasons why we can’t let Lily get a game in on a back to back and give Bogosian a night off?

I had forgotten about former leaf prospect Sam Carrick. Since his last game for the Leafs in 2015 he’s been grinding it out in the Ducks farm system for 4 years and just got called up and had a goal and a fight in his first game up with the Ducks.

I really hope he comes over TBH. The Russian system is a complete joke for NA bound players. Its a very good league over there, but it is so political. I guess I can understand to some degree. But there is no way Rodian should have received as little minutes on UFA this year. Not to draw the comp to a completely different sport. But it would have been like the Vancouver Whitecaps playing Alfonzo Davies as a substitute in his final year as a cap. They clearly know where the MLS ranks on the global hierarchy of football, so they were more than willing to give him the opportunity to prosper, knowing he'd inevitably leave for Europe. I feel like the KHL has this inferiority complex with the NHL where they legit think they are the best league in the world. They have repeatedly held back development on NA bound Players seemingly only for political reasons. The Leafs obviously need to maintain a working relationship with the KHL and its players, but I really don't think the best thing for Rodian is to play under 10 minutes a night in a bottom 6 role in the K. Play the shit outta this kid on the Marlies next year. Same thing they did with Willy. Seems to be working out just fine. Hopefully the rumors of him signing in TO are true.

Friday's game against Laval will be a good one. Caufield's quarantine ended yesterday and he's practicing with the Rockets, so likely get to see Robertson go head to head with him in a couple days.

Kral's quarantine is already over as of the 6th and is currently in Toronto. Would like to see him thrown immediately into a top 4 role on Friday with Moore saying he expects an immediate impact.: Kral-Liljegren or Kral-Rosen would be ideal, depending on who is with the taxi squad.

Would like to see us bring him over. We've done a great job with Sandin/Liljegren/Robertson being underaged on the Marlies.

Would also give the lineup some more skill.

Amirov won't even be underage, it will be like a CHL guy coming in after the playoffs then staying full time the next season rather than playing an OA/U21 year in junior

There's a lot of hockey left. It would make a lot of sense. Marlies could use some reinforcement too.

This is even better then joining the Marlies. He gets to play in the same league but this time for a good team.

don't mind this one bit. I swear Mikko is going to be one of those prospects that we just kind of forget about until he shockingly is our bottom pair LD. He doesn't carry the same ceiling as the big 4 prospects or even neimela for that matter. But he has a very high floor in my opinion. I think he is almost certainly going to play in the NHL at some point. Just might take a bit longer

Or he ll get traded with liligren

Why would you think we're trading away 2 of our top 4 prospects? We're definitely not doing that for a rental and to trade two guys like that means we're getting a serious player back with likely a troublesome cap hit for us.

One of the top four might be gone if we get a very good top 6 player with a contract that fits our future cap. Personally, I expect someone outside the top 4 prospects, or future first/second round picks to be used if we make a move before the TDL.

We aren't allowed to have more than 1 good prospect according to some fans. Either that or they would trade a top prospect for a Plekanec or Boyle type. Both are silly.

so Rodian Amirov just posted a picture on instagram and it looks kinda like a farewell thank you to the fans of UFA. put the text in google translate and it reads:

Ishimbay is my Motherland, my fellow countrymen are always in my heart! I was happy to come here and see my friends, acquaintances and relatives! Thanks to @khabirovradii and the administration of Ishimbay for the ice palace! Now the dreams and hopes of many boys and girls will definitely come true!

can anyone read Russian and provide context, I can't tell if he is thanking them for a new ice facility or for giving him an opportunity to play lol

Koshan just tweeted that talks between his agent and the Leafs are beginning. He should sign his ELC any day now.

A Gunnarsson drafted at 18 instead of 20

My Russian is admittedly not great, but the Google Translate translation seem pretty accurate in this case (which is not always the case).

It seems like both a thank you to the government for the new arena and a little bit of a farewell. He says he was (был) happy to go there (i.e., past tense)

Ya it looks like that is the case just by the photos. Seemed like a thank you, goodbye.

Thanks!
