Top 3, in the whole league? Yeah he probably won't be better than McDavid, Matthews and Bedard. Reasonable prediction.

Or top 3 like, top 3 forward on his team, so not a first liner?

He's also drafted by Arizona so he's probably already a top 3 player on that team
Well over the last two games at least three times knies was in scoring position and tapping his stick fir the puck and cooley tried another move and list the puck
Teamates will not enjoy playing with this guy
Doesn’t matter if its arizona unless he learns to use them he will not be successful
Too many good defenders in the league

Any update on Minten.?Looks like he missed the entire 1st round and I can't find a mention of that or if he will be back.

Minten should be ready soon according to this podcast. The Blaze - With Jon Keen & Friends
8:04 mark.

Minten's in the perfect position to develop imo - this year he's in a shut down role on a contendor behind their top guys upfront, still with an opportunity to get some powerplay time and contribute offensively.

Next year, he should be Kamloops #1 C and will get an opportunity to really focus on developing a complete offensive and defensive game as a go to guy - and hopefully he can make team Canada at the WJC in a bottom-six role.

Plus, his team is the Memorial Cup hosts so he's guaranteed to get some experience in big games this year, and they have no reason to rush him back from this injury before he's 100 %.

He's not the flashiest prospect in the system, but it's nice to have a guy with some combination of size and skill down the middle.

He does finish his checks etc....

Could he be a Mike Richards type? Although I don't know about the offensive ceiling.

I wouldn't put a ceiling on a guy who is 18 years old, but I think we should be happy if Minten becomes a Scott Laughton type third-line C who can put up 30 - 40 points, PK, and slide in to your top 6 in case of injury. That's more of a realistic projection imo.

If he gives us half of Mike Richards we win the Stanley Cup.

Maybe Boone Jenner? Laughton?

Agreed in part.

Its very difficult to project most 18 year olds period.

If it was scouting would be more of a science and less of an art IMO.

They got pillaged.
They did, but there were some players that looked good. Sat at the Glass with my son, and Niemela, although he is short, looks very good. Good skater and lots of poise, especially playing with Benn. Although Clifford took a few penalties, especially in the first, he actually looked good as well. Anyone who hasn't seen a Marlie game I would highly recommend it, a pair of seats at the glass will run you $138.00 but is well worth it

Marlies is fantastic value for your dollar in Toronto

Better when the top prospect types are there for a bit. Hopefully in 1-2 years we're able to see Minten and Amirov down there :)

Marlies are losing 5 1 after 2

Lost 7-2.

Benn and Dahlstrom were on the ice for 6 of the goals against (5 of them together). Marlies give up 5 PP goals and they were on the ice for 4 of those 5.

Pretty safe to say that we are probably better off without those two in our playoff lineup. Kokkonen has been up and down himself but at least he is a prospect who should be given those kinds of opportunities and he hasn't been a complete tire fire like those two have been since they've returned from their injuries.

Marlies have only won like once in their last dozen games. It has been really bad. Moore is not entirely to blame, because half of his lineup in that time has been ECHL caliber players, but he is out of time and it is looking like the Marlies are going to be an easy out in the playoffs.

Marlies realistically need one more good forward (at least) and unless Kressler or Ovchinnikov comes out of nowhere to impress, it is looking like our forward depth is going to be our downfall.

LW Nick Abruzzese – C Logan Shaw – RW Alex Steeves
LW Joseph Blandisi – C Pontus Holmberg – RW Semyon Der-Arguchintsev
LW Radim Zohorna – C Braeden Kressler – RW Max Ellis
LW Kyle Clifford – C Graham Slaggert – RW Marc Johnstone
LW Dmitri Ovchinnikov - C Grant Cruikshank – RW Zach Solow
C Jack Badini

LD Marshall Rifai – RD William Villeneuve
LD Filip Kral – RD Noel Hoefenmayer
LD Mikko Kokkonen – RD Topi Niemela
LD Carl Dahlstrom - RD Jordie Benn

G Keith Petruzzelli – G Erik Kallgren
G Dennis Hildeby

Would have been better if we had one more top 6 player so that Holmberg slots down to the 3rd line.
