Harvard cancelled its hockey season last year but not its academic program. He has been a student for three years. If he took summer courses while using Harvard facilities for training, he may be closer to graduating than you think. Moreover most courses were probably available by distance means. He didn’t even have to be on campus to take courses. if term ends in a couple of weeks, he may wait to join the pros. Note that word “may.” I’m just speaking of a possibility

Also remember that he is not on a financial scholarship. Ivy League programs don't pay for athletes' tuition (and even bursaries/partial scholarships are rare).

He is probably done his degree after this year anyways. Most guys who start late in terms of playing hockey at a school will still start taking courses sooner.

Nice to see Robertson truly dominate a game down there.

He's probably been rushed to the NHl every time so far - it would be nice to see him truly dominate the AHL for at least a couple weeks and then get a callup when he's actually feeling at the top of his game.
Agreed 100% but I’ve seen nothing that tells me he’d get a shot in the top 6 where he should be but instead Keefe will give him 8 minutes a game to grind on the 4th line and sparingly see some PP2 duty if he’s lucky

Eh. I think the bubble giving us an early look that he never would have gotten otherwise raised expectations on how good of prospect he is and how fast he should be brought along. Kappy is a perfect comparator IMO. Not as smart, but better physical tools and draft pedigree. Got a taste at 19, then got shit on for not being ready / as good as the Nylanders of the world. Had a point per game U21 AHL season (NRob's current age), came up late in a depth role. Started U22 in the A, came up mid way through in a depth role, U23 as a full time middle 6/ top 6 level player. I expect no better from Nick (but hope to be wrong).

holy fen chrst .... where the hell has that been all year

I feel it's hard because Robertson is given third and fourth line minutes with the Leafs instead of playing the game he plays in the Marlies on the second line. It's frustrating to be honest. We even saw how he "revitalized" JT and Willy the two games he played with them. Prior, that line was horrible (still is lol).

I hope he gets some second line minutes near the end of the year with the Leafs. His game is not that of a 3rd/4th line player.

I mean, they had a 95.6 xGF% last game with Kerfoot. Easily one of their best games of the season despite not scoring. I'm not overly worried about them, but it'd be nice for them to start destroying easyish comp again like that.

Robertson does look decent with them, but Kerfoot/Blackwell probably deserve a chance to see if they can get that line (more specifically Tavares) going again.

Anybody know what's up with Homlberg's PIMs? More this season that the last three combined. Is he playing with more of an edge? Are there a couple misconduct in there? Is it a discipline issue? Etc.

Pelicans win game 2 by a score of 3-2, so they will now play sudden death overtime to decide the winner. Must say this format adds intrigue.

On Harvard and other Ivy League Players. (Abruzzese will not be the only one.)

It is true that Ivy Leaguers do not get athletic scholarshipS. But there is no need to start a Go Fund Me page.

Here is a quick summary:

Ivy League offers 100% merit-based financial aid

Over the last few years, the eight Ivy League schools, which don’t offer scholarships, have instituted massive financial aid reform, opening its doors to students who could never have afforded to attend previously.
The sweeping reform has nearly doubled the size of grants and almost eliminated the need for student loans for middle-income families.
This giant increase in financial aid has changed the game for student-athletes, who can now receive an Ivy League education for free if their parents make under $65,000 per year.
Additionally, families making $65,000 to $180,000 are only expected to pay a small portion of their yearly income, no more than 18 percent.

Not sure Koster goes pro at all, but Kokkonen I believe will be coming over.

I could see Miettinen going either way

Pelicans lose the game 3 OT decider, and Kokkonen's very strange Liga career comes to an end. He'll join the Marlies I assume now.

Oh okay. Thanks I wasn't sure just guessing

If you watched the game, how did Nick Malik look?

I watched some highlights of him and he looked very Mrazek 2.0 without the weak goals or poor rebound control.

He got scrambly when the puck was taking weird bounces, but you can see his athleticism and ability to make huge saves that once got him a ton of praise. Seems to be one of the top goalies in the Liiga this year despite only being 20 years old.

Myers in the lineup for the Marlies. I wonder how well it will go here. Could be a nice interesting pickup this off-season if the Preds buy him out or if there's a way to get him without his current cap hit

And looks like Clifford’s in over both SDA and mini-Ovi.
And Hutch gets the start over Petruzzelli, who was pretty great the other night.
