while that line up looks nice, it’s highly unlikely this ever happens. We will sign UFA’s over time
or trade for guys. It never happens that a team is just full of homegrown guys. But I could be wrong, you never know.
No doubt. I am confident that pretty well all these guys have the right tools to make it. All 3 of the guys I had on the 4th are the ones that I think need to show it at the next level but the others I think will develop nicely.

Rubins Steeves Lilly coached by MOORE playING for LEAFS HIS JOB is to develop players for the TML not to win AHL games
Lol. Teaching good habits and structured play is good for development. Good habits leads to winning games. Winning games is good for development or else you become the Buffalo Sabres.

Moore is the opposite of that.

Tverberg going to make this Team.

I would love to see some of our players in team Canada. Just hits home differently for me

As much I'll be glued to team Finland with so many of our players potentially playing for that team

But something about a Leafs prospect putting on the Leaf

Idk, that one condescending guy who obviously knows more than us told us that Amirov loves the situation he's in.

Kloke's article also says he doesn't think Amirov can break the loan. Might have to wait until the end of the KHL season, in which case, I'm going to be extremely disappointed.

Generally speaking Russians will have more info and insights about situations there, while we tend to speculate instead.

Run this through a translator. It’s a super cool interview with Amirov and his Russian GM about why he wants to develop in his hometown, and will also do so next year if he isn’t in the NHL. It was given after he signed with the Leafs.

Родион Амиров: «Я остаюсь в Уфе еще на один-два года, а потом поеду в «Торонто»

Keep in mind Amirov is 30 games behind the curve. He himself recently said he’s not close to being in game-shape yet. If he’s still being scratched a month from now it’ll be time to worry. But until then it looks like the team is just taking things slowly.

It's crazy how Moore went from "we want to move up in the standings" 2 days ago to "it's good for development" today.

I am genuinely surprised we are 3rd in our division in points percentage right now...

This despite giving up the 3rd most goals per game (over 3.5) ahead of only San Jose and Texas.

Last year, 3.4 goals against per game.

Under Keefe for the first few games of 2019-2020: 2.93. It was around the same under Davison/McLean. Under Moore that year: 4.27 goals against per game. He had the same defensive personnel as the other coaches that year, but we are giving up 1.5 more goals per game under Moore?

As you can imagine, among the worst in the league in each case.

Fortunately, we are still putting up semi-decent goal totals each year... As one would hope with the kind of offensive talent the Marlies have. Obviously still far from where it should be.

It's enlightening to know somebody gets it!
I'll include this.....a tremendously insightful conversation with Rodya. He discusses everything under the sun. Off-ice life, his time in Toronto, Salavat's training process, his coaches, education, life goals, etc. Very astute kid. It's painfully evident he loves the situation in Ufa.

But I guess he's too stupid to know the evil KHL has it out for him because he wants to play in the NHL!. Poor boy.:sarcasm::rolleyes:

Nobody in their right mind believes that it's a worse place to play for him. The KHL is a better league than the AHL.

The issue is the fact that our 1st round pick who was loaned back to the team to play top-6 minutes & top-PP isn't even getting into the lineup. If he's not going to play at all or a minute a game, it's time to bring him over. It's legitimately shocking how this is a debate.

This isn't rocket science. He's recovering from long injury and said he's not in good playing condition. He admitted it was difficult even getting into a groove at VHL level.

If he's not ready for duty and will be a liability because of conditioning issues, he won't be in an AHL lineup either. Give him time to get up to speed. Enough of the 'sky is falling' mentality and sensationlsim. There's still a lot of season left to be played.

Either way, he gave a recent interview and said Toronto is aware of his injury situation and has been in thoughough communication with him. He made it sound like they were fine with how he was being treated.

Of course they were fine with how he was treated.... during injury. If he's healthy enough to be playing 17 minutes in the VHL, he should be healthy enough to be playing in the KHL every game. Salavat absolutely does not have 12 better forwards than him. It's debatable that they have 3.

If he's not playing, you bring him over. If he's playing 1 minute/game, you bring him over. If he's playing 10 minutes a game, it's not ideal, but he's recovering from an injury. It's not rocket science.

If someone is sent to ECHL for a conditioning stint and play 17 minutes, that doesn mean he's ready for AHL duty. Especially if he found ECHL competition a challenge.....which Rodion found the VHL.
He'd be treated no different in North America.

If he keeps receiving no/minimum ice time, then you have a legitimate point. But complaining about ice time in the immediate few games after he's been injured for months is ridiculous.
But of course it's the KHL, so there has to be some ulterior motive.
