Excellent. We're going to need him at 3C next season when we blow the rest of our cap on defense and maybe goaltending.

It's really weird because I always thought the scouting report on Minten was that he could be a good defensive centre with great hockey sense but not really much offensive explosiveness to his game. So of course they tried to make him a scoring winger at the tournament...

It was a very weird dynamic. Out of all the options for Minten, scoring winger is not one of them.

I thought he did really good for playing out of his element.
The coaching in that tournament was really bad for Canada.

Would have been great to have a #3 developing all these years under Matthews & Tavares. Should have prioritized getting a young center either via trade, free agency [McBain etc] or draft imo. What easier way would there be to ease one in when you have two 11M centers in front of them?

17 games 23 pts on pace for a 67 game season 27 goals 90 pts
 
If Minten is not the 3C next year, he needs to play with the Marlies to get top 6 minutes and improve his offense. There is something there but he needs time to polish whatever offensive talent that he has

I feel like if you want to split Nylander onto his own line next year, Minten could be the C. Nylander has shown he doesn't nee a great C to be effective.

Is this not a very normal thing for decent prospects in the CHL. Jeremy Bracco had 64 in 49 in his D+1 year - CHL performance isn't really telling.

What you can give Minten benefit of the doubt is being a 2 way player and having above ppg - but still its CHL lets pump the breaks

I never said that he will be a top 6 players .

I think Bracco was a top prospect based on his CHL results.
His development dropped off dramatically which is unfortunate.
