Honestly just thinking about Cowan, Minten, Grebyonkin and Tverberg being added to our forwards now is surreal. Just crazy forward depth.
No we’re just getting bacc to having depth again at the forward group now if the bacc end can catch up to them and the goalies we’ll be in good shape again

- Seattle looks to have made a great second round pick with Rehkopf
- Musty was a name that many liked around our pick but didn't reach us

Was at the Marlies game last night. Tverberg looked great. Was in the right spots, hustled and has a better shot than I thought. I've always felt since his college days there was a nice mix for a player that could be a mainstay in the bottom 6.

Also, last night was my 4th Marlies game this year so I've now had 4 looks at Niemela. Overall he is solid. Nothing spectacular or dominant, but plays a smart and safe game. He does look a bit more slight than I expected. It could be the way he skates that does that as well. Will need to bulk up a bit, but I also think there is something there, even if it is bottom pair.

Steeves always stands out, just seems quicker, smarter and more talented than most of the league. Though with the Leafs he has always been vanilla. May always be a AAAA player.

Abruzesse could probably carve a home for himself on a team looking for more offence where he could play on the #2 PP.

Villeneuve is someone I usually don't notice much, which for a dman is a good thing. Can't give any other thoughts really.

Bellows can rip it, I could go either way if the Leafs want to sign him. If they think he's worth a shot, sure, but also wouldn't be an issue if he ends up somewhere else.

That’s some nice old school leadership… what a gutless move by that Sens hack.
Totally agree. I think this is the risk with a “conditioning” start for goalies. Some minor league guy sees it as his moment in the sun to take a run.

I'd like to see both get extended looks this year. Steeves was vanilla, but it was only a three game stint and he seems to have taken a step forward since then.

Need to give him some NHL rope to see if he's another Trevor Moore or another Joey Anderson.

Does anyone know where to access past draft order prediction by Button and/or others?

I like to look back at how accurate they were.
I don't think its compiled anywhere. Just a year by year search for Craigs List 20xx TSN. He is so hit and miss but always still interesting.

My NHLdraft had lists from various sources but changed their format in 2020. Still the 18-and 19 drafts are only getting fully cooked now so I refer to it a bit.

Apparently, PTOs last only 25 games and Bellows has completed it.
He has completed it. and is likely looking for some kind of contract. But there is also nothing stopping them from just signing him to another PTO.

If he does sign an NHL deal he would have to pass through waivers to continue with the Marlies. That shouldn’t be a problem in theory as any team that could claim him on the waivers could have signed him themselves at any point. But you never know.

Tverberg just hangs around as a prospect in the sense that, even though he was a late pick pick, he manages to stay relevant, you can't write him off.
It would be nice if he can ride the wave from a game like this. His personal confidence and confidence by the coach to use him more could help him hit the next level. A ppg for an AHL rookie is a high bar that many successful NHL players don't reach. He has always been a finisher on his clubs so good to see some goals going in.

Well, looking back on the Dave Morrison track record, it's kind of interesting that he was partially involved in drafting, signing trading for guys like Zach Hyman, Connor Brown, Dakota Joshua, Carter Verhaeghe, Trevor Moore, Mason Marchment, Josh Leivo in North America. So they do find their darkhorse forwards and develop them to some extent.

I guess the tricky part is you never know how much seasoning those guys need to catch an NHL job... and they're not that valuable while in tweener mode.

Thought his 3rd. goal was kind of soft, however the 4th. was worthy!

Yeah.

I was hoping Ovichenkov or whatever would have had that boost from the hat trick it hasn't quite held true but Tverberg is doing some really good things. Might have a contributor in 1-2 years.
