McCue is interesting. The point totals are underwhelming for a U20 that you'd hope is AHL ready by next fall. But 6'2 workhorse that thrives on the forecheck putting up 40 goals (if he keeps it up) is an eyebrowraising 7th rounder.

Have to assume he will get moved to a contender, will be interesting to see if he thrives as a complementary player to more talent or if the scoring falls off with less ice/ less of the offense running through him.

I have days I think the Leafs should just get all 6 and 7th rounders . Their record is astounding. Even Grebs is a 5th.

One thing Dubas did with Shanny was develop a very good development program and also have /had a great team of scouts.

It’s hard to make it in the NHL as a 1st rd pick let alone later rd picks.

Hopefully Trey continues the shrewd late drafting.

And imagine if we had Amirov?

We saw many, many games end in ties.

To me it was win, lose, tie/draw..

Not sure why that is so distasteful to some? There are events that end in ties and their leagues don't fold.

When you need a winner, like in the playoffs, then play until one team wins.

If everything keeps going this way we will have a decision to make next summer .
Stolarz will need a new contract after next season , if Woll proves to be just as good and healthy we will have a decision to make the way goaltender contracts are going through the roof.
And having two quality goaltenders on the marlies.

This is a good problem

Maybe trade Stolarz next year at tdl for a haul if woll proves reliable I’m not sold he can be though

With the way Arty and the Hildebeast are developing we may be able to move Woll this offseason to a goalie-desperate team to fill another need.
 
Leafs will ride out Stolarz contract and likely not give him the raise he is looking for.
One of Arty/Hildeby will backup Woll.
Leafs will either move Woll in his last year or let him ride it out too.
Then the other ahl goalie is brought up. Bridge them.
Rinse, repeat

I don't get the sense Leafs are committing long-term and/or big money contracts to goalies for the foreseeable future

Cap allocated to shore up 2C and top 4D for the duration of Matthew's contract
