Makes me wonder who made the decision to hire/fire and whether it was due to lack of due diligence or because they didn't care.

2) contracts can be bought out if the org is serious about getting rid of a player.

For sure, Matthews was stupid to have underwear mooned that security guard and faced a lawsuit. The Leafs would have been within their rights to work with the PA for more action.
