Exactly what I see from him, it's like a hot potato for him. He must have skill, being a first rounder but I see a whole lot of nevousness in him henever he gets the puck.

Eller needs to learn patience with the puck. You cant blame Therrien for that. He has to be the one to make that change to fight for a center position.
Definitely agree here. Kid needs to calm the hell down. Always looks so nervous and like he has 0 confidence.
Sure, let him work this in the stands MT...

You mean being benched didn't give him confidence? No way.

He had his chance tonight.
The biggest improvement in the Canadiens from last year is their passing. That and having patience with the puck.
The team as a whole has progressed tremendously in the passing game. Lots more tape to tape passes and therefore more puck possession.
Eller still appears to be stuck in 2011/2012 when the Habs did not have a passing game. Too many pucks to nowhere and usually nowhere was on the tape of a player from the other team.
Eller should watch tape from tonight's game, especially Brian Gionta. He would learn a lot. When Gionta was pressured and did not have anyone to pass it to, instead of unloading the puck to nowhere, he would send the puck back to his DMen to change the flow of the attack from the Devils. Puck patience. It works well when teams do it.

Galchenyuk is starting to gain confidence and look to control the play.
I really like that Therrien is sheltering him these first few games, 12 mins per game to start the season is just fine IMO, his ice time will start going up as the season goes on.
