Still seeing cohesion and consistency issues with this team, the good thing is that they are battling through and winning games. I think that the first line's slow start is eventually going to resolve itself, if the kids slow down at some point, they'll need Cole and Desharnais to produce.

One thing I noticed tonight that will probably be heavily discussed by the coaching staff is discipline and focus, I'm amazed the glass behind Brodeur didn't get replaced once during the game.

Looks like Eller will be staying on DD's line. Therrien said he liked what he saw tonight and doesn't want to start shuffling lines

Exactly what I see from him, it's like a hot potato for him. He must have skill, being a first rounder but I see a whole lot of nevousness in him henever he gets the puck.

Definitely agree here. Kid needs to calm the hell down. Always looks so nervous and like he has 0 confidence.

Eller needs to learn patience with the puck. You cant blame Therrien for that. He has to be the one to make that change to fight for a center position.

I just look at his production elsewhere (Worlds and during the lockout) and conclude that he can be better. I am also fairly confident in guaranteeing that putting him as LW will NOT make him look better offensively. I just hope Therrien realizes this.

He is a big center with skill. You don't just give up, put them in positions to look bad and toss them away like peanut shells. Yeah. Peanut shells.

He kind of looks like a kid playing out of position who knows he will be in the pressbox after the next time he screws up. Funny how that is.

Sure, let him work this in the stands MT...

He had his chance tonight.

The biggest improvement in the Canadiens from last year is their passing. That and having patience with the puck.

The team as a whole has progressed tremendously in the passing game. Lots more tape to tape passes and therefore more puck possession.

Eller still appears to be stuck in 2011/2012 when the Habs did not have a passing game. Too many pucks to nowhere and usually nowhere was on the tape of a player from the other team.

Eller should watch tape from tonight's game, especially Brian Gionta. He would learn a lot. When Gionta was pressured and did not have anyone to pass it to, instead of unloading the puck to nowhere, he would send the puck back to his DMen to change the flow of the attack from the Devils. Puck patience. It works well when teams do it.

Therrien on Rene Bourque: His work ethic is exemplary right now

If this was said last year who would have laughed? I know I would have but he's been great so far!

I'm really hoping Therrien realizes this and gives him confidence like a coach should, and get his game going.

Galchenyuk is starting to gain confidence and look to control the play.

I really like that Therrien is sheltering him these first few games, 12 mins per game to start the season is just fine IMO, his ice time will start going up as the season goes on.

We all know he make's mistakes. We all know he's not a first line talent ATM. No one ever claimed that.

He need's grooming, we all know it. We need to develop him thats it. Being the odd man out at 23 is not developing him, sorry. It's make it or break it year for him.

Biggest change this year is the forecheck and the PP. MT can get credit for the first and markov (and a lesser extent diaz) for the second.

Now lets shut it down and tank!

way to early to give up on Eller imo. He seems to have the skill set, just needs to be worked with some more. He does seem to panic, such a contrast with Chucky.

Chucky is staying up, book it. And Gally probably too.

D still worries me

You know what's funny, Eller as a young 23 year old player has only ever played under Jacques Martin at the NHL level. And he was benched after the first game in which almost all Habs except Price looked terrible so he hasn't exactly had much game time to adjust, now has he.

all I know is that we are 3-1 with 3 straight wins and Markov is playing great. PK are meeting monday and he doesn t have any bargaining power. he can try and get a little more but doesn t have much bargaining power.

is it 5 or 6 games that they are allowed to play before a decision has to be made? Ottawa is game 6
