Don’t want Gio anywhere near Toronto. Leave him in Seattle.
just out of curiosity. Why?

The Leafs **might** need a RD. Focus your energy on that, instead of this.
with all this being said - he is an improvement OVER MUZZIN AS WELL!!!!!!!!
you should always be looking to improve your team
A trade no one wants to talk about is - Muzzin for Giordano Straight up!
Seattle probably does it as they get a veteran with term and cost certainty
Leafs get the benefit of Gio (who is the better player now) and maybe roll the dice of getting him extended at 2.5-3.5 m for 2-3 year compared to Muzzin at 5.6
regardless, even if Gio walks - they shed 5.6 (Muzzin) - which can then be used elsewhere
Why do you care so much about LD VS RD? as long as the player makes the team better that should be the focus
So, if we need a replacement for Holl, which I believe you've stated is the purpose here, should we get a Winger, who makes our team better? That's ok right? Making the team better is the focus? Right? If I've misunderstood, than please correct me.
If you want to replace Holl, and make the team better... you find a player who is comfortable, and experienced at playing the position he plays... that's RD. Why obtain a player, who isn't any good there, to take that position? Many guys are just better at one side... You pick up Gio, and you probably still are stuck with Holl. Gio means moving Sandin out of the lineup. Is that what you want, or are you looking at moving Holl out? You always start with what your end goal is, and then try and find a solution to that... That's with anything in life. If your goal is to replace Holl, find a Holl replacement... someone who can play RD.
If you insist on the LD VS RD set up then move Rielly to RD, we know he can do it we have seen it.
Yeah that's a bad idea Gio is a rental, Muzzin has a contract
If OP answers more in his own thread than others do....does the thread really exist?
