I think that with the maturation of Hagelin and some other young players, plus full seasons from Dorsett and Brassard, they will be fine.
Let go of Pyatt, Powe and Boyle and let some young players battle for spots.
Stalberg and Bickell would look good in the bottom-6 as big bodies with speed.
Oh come on, Walt Kyle raves about him.
Yeah, and Florida would have taken him with the next pick in round 2 that year
Where is he now? German league Champion with the Berlin Polar Bears.
He got a ring.....
Can't let guys go assuming the youngin's will be able to fill their roles. Plus, who's gonna replace Powe and Boyle on the PK? Agree on Pyatt though.
I know there's a 6'6" kid in the Q that has a lot of projection.

He is a big body who likes to hit and drive to the net. Good skater for his size. The difference is he likes to bring the pain, Pyatt is more of a big skilled player.
Bickell was pretty much a clone of Pyatt last season. He's a bit of a question mark to me, although I like his tools. He's got a wicked shot.
Why would u be worried. Trade can't be undone now. Gabby passed the standard physical teams have acquired players take. Players played games for their respective new teams.
Trade is complete. No need to worry.
If CBus difnt have Gabby looked at, a player with known history of injuries then that failure is 100pct on them.
At this point, there just may be no such thing as a healthy, 100% Gaborik.

Arron Asham to me: "I think our team -- nothing against Gabby -- but I think our team is better off now than it was before the deadline."
I'm not sold on Dorsett yet, but Moore and Brassard have both been way better than I hoped for - and I was very happy with the trade at the time.
It sounded as if Columbus fans hated to give up Dorsett more than the other two when the trade initially went down.

He was a fan favorite. He will be in NY too.
I know, but I've been very unimpressed with him so far. OTOH the entire team has been dreadful, so he hasn't been given an environment to succeed in.
I hope he can bring a good forechecking game and cause a lot of turnovers in the offensive zone, because his other main aspect - the physicality and hitting - is to me mostly window dressing.

He also walked into the NHL playoffs after not having played hockey for two months. Did you really expect him to be skating at full speed right now?

some fans are dumb... he has not played in two months. of course he would be rusty. i liked what i saw from him considering he was hurt for a while. i know he will be better. he was a fan favorite on the Bluejackets for a reason....
I'm not writing him off, I'm just not getting my hopes up. But the injury angle and being thrown into the playoffs are points that I may not have considered enough.
I mean he has been marketed as a more skilled Prust, and if he truly is that then we have a great player.
The point of the original post wasn't meant to talk down Dorsett, it was more saying that Brass+Moore have by themselves been a lot more valuable than Gaborik was this year.
