On what planet would a team in the Penguins situation be paying to move Karlsson?

They seem to be under the impression that they can still win before Crosby retires… so it wouldn’t surprise me if they still focus on short term moves.

Weird to see some Penguins fans discussing having “NHL ready players” brought back in a return for MP like it would be a deal breaker if it doesn't happen.

It's not a dealbreaker, it's just that Dubas has said it's his priority. Therefore, we are viewing a trade that returns an NHL-ready player as being more likely than one that doesn't.
