Now you tell me what happened with Edmonton last couple games and would the Oilers be interested in Marchand ? @LTIR

If I was the Bruins I'd be trying to get a player like Conor Geekie back in a trade, someone who can play top 6 immediately
.
I think Marchand on the Lightning would make them favorites in that division.

I'd rather drink bleach while listening to mumble rap than watch Marchand in a Lightning jersey. My brother is a Bolts fan (on top of me already hating that team anyway) and would never let me hear the f***ing end of it if he went to Tampa and ended up winning.

I know I just derailed this thread a little to make it about me but I just had to get that off my chest after reading your proposal instead of carrying it with me as I go to bed.

I’m morbidly curious how Marchand would be in a new locker room. He has to keep doing Marchand stuff to be worth it but I really wonder how a MacKinnon type would welcome it mid-season without any time to warm up to it. You got a coherent hierarchy going and in comes this old man who insists on licking guys for some reason on national television.

He hasn't licked anyone is over half a decade. I really don't think that's a worry.

IDK if anyone is giving uo that level of player unless Marchand extends.

Steep price

Assuming the Bruins are well outside of the playoff picture at the trade deadline and Marchand would be willing to go to a contender, what would your team offer for him? Bruins targets are elite potential prospects and young players with elite potential who are already playing in the NHL.

Elite prospects for 36 year old Brad Marchand?

First of teams don't give up their top prospects for UFA's, maybe if Mikko Rantanen is available at the deadline but otherwise it won't happen.

2nd again Marchand is 36 not 28.

If everybody just had to do what I said

Then Marchand would be a jet. He would resign for a few years, be in the top 6 mix, eventually replaced by the younger jets. Maybe Canadian pride plus the group of hard working veteran players is the perfect environment for a guy who plays with a lot of pride and works hard. Also if Ehlers goes they need secondary scoring and he does that. But they don’t need it forever. They have young guys. A few years is great.

And Ehlers would replace DeBrusk in the bruins depth chart, resign for term. Maybe the jets send a pick too. Marchand has very high pedigree and it has to be worth the bruins while to move him.

I doubt Marchand chooses to spend his last few years in the league in Winnipeg

Totally agree. Really hard to believe Vegas wouldn’t be an option and for so many reasons it would be hard to pass on that.

But Chevy has previously been a miracle worker. Perhaps there is one last trick that turns his expiring ufa into a hockey trade at a rental deadline.

Always easy to spot those speaking on YouTube highlights and wishful bias.

Marchand has not been that player for years now. Aside from some banter on the ice there is little of the old Marchand antics remaining. For better or worse.

He would be an more impactful Recchi to the Bruins Cup run. Still a very good player and I personally hope he returns to Boston in July.

To some fans who dream of Marchand nightly, he licks and elbows players every shift. As well as the grocery store cashier.

They train together every summer and Marchand has been a popular teammate his entire career here and on national teams.

I think MacKinnon cares more about anyone on his team licking a carb.

Definitely don’t want Marchand on the Jets…no thank you.
He can go lick peoples faces elsewhere

I'd love to bring Marchand in to mentor Jarvis, and they seemed to have fun together at the 4N. But given his age, not sure we'd be in the market for that
