If this is really how he feels then Marchand should reach out to Tom Wilson and have a little discussion with him.

Wilson hasn't been in the league THAT long and he's already on everyone's radar for every hit he lays, dirty or not.

He needs to do a quick 180 or he's not going to be able to lay a simple body check without taking a 2-minute minor or getting suspended. Especially with his recent quote about how he didn't do anything wrong.

I think the issue is everyone made such a big deal about the licking, and nothing about the actual dangerous plays he makes, that it kind of just reinforces that he can get away with that stuff, as long as he doesn’t lick people.

So, no, I don’t think he got it.

This is so silly and disingenuous. I would respect him more if he said "yeah I did it to annoy people to get them off their game, but obviously it didn't work and we're here on the sidelines. Back to the drawing board" as opposed to "did some real soul searching yada yada yada."
