Yeah let's not get ahead of ourselves here. Opposition will figure him out eventually, then let's see what he can do.

I think the kid looks great. Someone mentioned he is slow, but I don't think it is a speed issue, I think he is just focused on being in the right places. As he gets more comfortable that will get better.

I personally think his positioning has been excellent, he is also tenacious to burst into areas quickly, to check a player, fill a gap, stop a puck or intercept a pass, etc. He also isn't shy of contact or hitting. Obviously the scoring touch is there. He has also excelled everywhere he has been put. I think he is a keeper, and not just because I predicted it the day he was signed ;)

Hell baby
He himself says he needs to work on his skating and honestly if he does that I don’t see why he can’t be a valuable middle 6 player. Smart guy, works hard, good shot. Versatile. A little more explosiveness will go a long way for him

Haha, well, he did completely bench him as a reward for his 1st goal, then after his 2nd goal he was demoted from the 2nd line to the 4th line. Now that he has scored a 3rd goal, who knows!
For a kid in his position, the only demotion is Providence.

And Cassidy hasn't had the chance to ruin him yet...
He seems like the type of player that his motor never quits and he has a high hockey IQ. I think he'll be hard to ruin/ break him, only because I feel his heart is his biggest asset and it will take a whole lot to discourage him, plus what coach doesn't love a player who plays with so much energy and his heart on his sleeve.

If they send him down and keep Nosek and Foligno up then all of head office should be fired and the team should move to North Dakota.

Nosek-Foligno 124 games combined 5 goals and -21.

McLaughlin 6 games 3 goals +3.

I think he has a higher floor

4th guys are Blidh, Lazar type... crash and burn

Mclaughlin showed better hands. And that goal....

For now.. I'm putting him in my Frank Vatrano catergory. 3rd liner that can score goals

God bless Craig Smith... but once his contract ends next season. MM is a natural replacement. Coyle and Freddy are still young... with MM... could be a nice line for years to come (my jump the gun take)

Idk about a craig smith replacement, but if he can provide a 4th line mainstay role and earn it, then that’s a massive win for the bruins to sign him basically as a cheap free agent that cost the team nothing.
