give him another shot on the 4th line without foligno and lets see if somethings there - that line has been pretty invisible lately

Welcome to the Jungle
When Smith returns... the only slot available would be on the 4th line. Unless JDB craps his pants

Not banking that MM takes over a vet spot... . But its good to know he is available

More impressed by MM one game than all of Studnickas games combined thus far...
I hate to agree with your Studnicka take but I do.

Welcome to the Jungle
Good details. For example MM in the offensive end corner. Stuck his butt/hip out and protected the puck against a NJ defender...

Surprised and impressed to see
I just noticed multiple times in the first period where he was the first forward back on the forecheck. Then just the lines he took were just excellent for a rookie, it appears he’s going to be more then just responsible, it appears that may be the signature component in his game. I certainly hope so. To top all of this off, when I did notice him in the ozone he was crashing the net or supporting the play. I am thoroughly impressed, my concern is only whether he can repeat this effort this year as a 13th forward but I look forward to finding out.

I think him getting a game in the NHL was part of the deal to sign him. Good on him for capitalizing on the opportunity.

You could tell that Freddy and him mesh well together. His very first shift he threw his body around and counted at least 2 hits. If he can keep up the in-game adrenaline and energy, he may be a good depth piece heading into the playoffs.
